I'm not really looking for a "relationship", just yet. Maybe in a few months-- depends on how the emotional stalagmites shape up.
Guess for now I'm mostly just here for the chats, and maybe to find an e-mail kindrepal or two. Sort of getting my feet wet before leaping back into those deep, scary emotional waters, so to speak.

It should be said that I recently had my heart shattered... {sigh}
(some quick advice-- never marry a flaky, selfish, and amoral artist!)
...and it will be awhile before I can be very rational about who & what I'm looking for, let alone what I may have to offer.
I have tried the "rebound lover" route in the past, and found that it's just not fair for either person. And, yes... I've had enough sex in my life to know that I can afford to wait for the right partner (for those of you who still believe that sex is all that a man really wants)(sheeesh).
So, meanwhile:
I am an intelligent, musical, witty, irreverent yet sentimental, loyal, eclectic, creative and messy capricorn. The gals say I'm cute and "devilishly handsome", but currently I think I could stand to lose about 20 lbs (I've just joined a gym).
INFP (but close to INFJ), well-read (mostly fiction, humor & satire), politically tolerant (on the liberal side of Libertarian), spiritually aware and open-minded (but with a VERY healthy skepticism toward anyone who's "sure" they know what's right for everyone else), well-travelled (but sorta burned out on that), computer literate (jaded about that, too), vegetarian (not a fanatic), monogamous (very), sort of a hippie at heart, but also a US Navy vet and a corporate refugee, so I can usually fit in where needed. And um, lessee, what else......?
Movie-loving (almost anything with a reasonably intelligent plot and decent acting), Pro-USA (but thoroughly disgusted with the current administration), forest-hugging (we've gotta get our oxygen from somewhere), non-smoking (ditto), animal-oriented (especially doggies), sexual (to a healthy degree), currently bearded (just a phase-- shaving is so tedious without good cause), outgoing when comfortable (ingoing by nature), art-loving (yes, even in spite of the ex), not into pro sports (they're rich enough without my help), hiking-friendly (no alpine expeditions, just day trips), organized yet cluttered (hey, I know where everything's at... no, really.... *clatter**crash**clang*... just a sec...), too emotional for my own good (sob, sniff), too intellectual for my own good (indubitably), (no, the previous two are NOT mutually exclusive, unfortunately).
Reasonably fit (I walk a lot), have some of the usual hypocritical social biases regarding physical appearance & intelligence of a potential lover/mate (but can be friends with almost anyone), NOT a morning person (can be if needed, but definitely prefer the wee hours), reasonably tall (not 6’, but over average), casual dresser, easy-going, not too smelly, somewhat far-sighted, caucasian, blood type 0+, hazel-eyed, non-tattooed, large-footed..... {gasp} {pant} {coff}

P.P.S. Still looking for a more current picture. I grew up in a "stand over there and say cheese" family, so I tend to resist photo-ops unless they are absolutely necessary (or sprung unsuspectedly by "trusted" fiends, I mean friends)
Not to worry. the pix presented are about 5 yrs old (except the baby shot, natch), but the only major differences are that the jowls are a bit wider (and hairier, see above), and the hair is definitely grayer (divorce will do that to you). The diastematic grin remains intact.....
