First and foremost, I am a single mother of a beautiful and smart little girl. I know this will turn some of you off but, if me having a daughter is a problem, then stop reading. While being a busy mom and being a graduate student does take up time, I do have my own wants and needs and can take opportunities to fulfill them. Such as hiking, camping, pretty much anything outdoors. Every once in a while I like to go to a small pub locally or in Atlanta and listen to live music. Music is a passion of mine and I am getting a guitar soon and I am going to teach myself how to play. I love all types of music except for any of the modern country music. I am a big fan of Led Zepplin, The Cure, Gwen Steffani, Coldplay, indie rock, some hip-hop and rap. And I also like to listen to new age and classical music to wind down. This summer, my daughter and I have been spending a lot of time at the pool and it is really cool playing with her and teaching her how to swim.
I work very hard to achieve my goals. My mom tells me that anything that I have wanted, I have gotten because I persevere.
I am involved with my family and I consider myself a loyal friend. If someone needs something, I find great joy in helping them out.
I do not like to sit around and watch television all day. While I am busy with my daughter and studying, when I do have free time, I usually like to sit outside and read or just look at the sky. I was involved with a hiking club, but then I got pregnant and have gotten out of touch with the group. A few of my favorite places to camp are Grandfather Mountain, Cumberland Island, Talladega Forest, and Cheha.
I know when to have fun and when to settle down and chill out.
I am an honest person, sometimes to the point of being too blunt. However, I am tactful and can handle situations without causing someone to have their feelings hurt. I can't stand to beat around the bush about anything, and prefer that from other people.
Even though I am not looking for anything serious right now, if I were to find someone to hang out with on a deeper level than just friendship, I am passionate and sweet and will treat that person with respect and make them happy.
