I am newly single after almost 23 years with the same woman. I have three wonderful children, who are far better than I deserve. 
I worked in law enforcement for almost 20 years...five in Idaho, and the other 15 years here in the beautiful Flathead Valley. I had to take a medical retirement after an injury on the job caused a neurological condition. It doesn't stop me from enjoying life or love, just limits what I can do much of sometimes.
As with most things, when one door closes, another opens, and I now have the time to pursue the things that I enjoy, and like to think I am pretty good at. I am working on my first (but not last) novel, and am a member of the Authors of the Flathead. I also carve intricate whimsical houses in cottonwood bark, which you might be able to see hanging behind me in the photo. I also draw humorous pictures and had about a dozen political cartoons published in the local newspaper during the last presidential (and Governor's) election.
I am usually a bit quiet and reserved. However, I have a unique sense of humor and enjoy the fun and funny things in life.
I am looking to find friends to exchange ideas and emails with and hope that the friendship with the right lady grows into more than that. I am not desperate for a "quick" relationship, and don't mind being alone for as long as it takes to find the one that is meant to be. 
I have wonderful family in the area and enjoy life every day, even through the toughest of times. I try to be the best person I can be, but I am not perfect, and don't expect you to be either. All I ask for is someone who is kind hearted, and compassionate, and not too controlling or critical. Now that I read that...it does kind of look like I expect a perfect woman, doesn't it?  Anyway, she would need a good sense of humor...probably a little twisted or unusual, of course, and a little bit of good looks doesn't hurt any either.
I enjoy good movies, good company, a few TV shows, fine music, an occasional glass of micro-brew, all sorts of diverse foods, my kids, and God...and not necessarily in that order. I also really enjoy camping, fishing and hunting, and watching some sports.
