Twinkle , twinkle little star
how I wonder who you are
it seems I can not remember
the day or month or the year
Alzheimer's is the word
my doctor said ,
that what I hear.
Twinkle, twinkle little star
how I wonder what your name
does this word mean I am going insane?
it seem I pick up a fork to eat
but I think it a spoon,
my family don't understand me
I feel out of tune.
Twinkle, twinkle little star
I hide in my room
please don't ask me to come out
don't you all understand I am
forgetting what this worlds all about.
like each bright star up in the dark sky
I only can make out certain things
now everything seem scary
and I still don't know why.
Twinkle, twinkle little star
soon I will be place in a home
for it will be unsafe of me to be out and about
but don't worry I will not care.
God always with me and he
shines a light for me from way up stairs,
every night the glow from the moon and the stars
keep watch over people like me
who know not what the day ahead
will hold for them tonight or tomorrow.
