I usually talk to someone for two to three weeks before i meet them. I want to get to know them first, their likes, dislikes, make sure i feel comfortable before I make that final step. I remember one time, I did it at the spare of the moment, and it ended up being a disaster, so yes just wait and take your time, and if he dont agree, then dump him.

For me, it depends on my comfort level. How well I think our personalities mesh.
Could be months, depends on distance, also.

ASAP sweetie, odds are not in our favor on this one. Most people we start talking to we will NOT end up with. So find out as soon as you can, meet within a couple of days if you can, if you have a second meeting your on your way. If you don't hit it off, you did not waste several weeks, countless phone hours, time fantasizing, losing sleep, missing out on other's etc.

After a week or two of talking on the telephone. It has even been as short as that day if they are close by. Just a meet for a drink to talk face to face...rare, but has happened. I don't like dragging it out and wasting a lot of time. Face to face meeting tells all!

Here's another question. How long do you stay on a date site?
While it at first, the site seems promising that you will meet someone, the longer you stay, the less likely your chances. Seems everyone wants to meet the new members but soon you start seeing the same faces all the time.
So I am wondering why is that?
Do the people not get dates? Or are they not seriously looking? Or are they just leaving their profiles up to get e mail to boost their egos?
My limit is 3-6 months on a particular site as far as expecting any type of positive results.

I'm talking to someone now and we'll have talked for about 3 weeks before I move (was already moving before I started talking to them) and we meet face to face. Usually you know in that amount of time if you are connected enough to want to meet them.
