Likely a rumor someone tried to start on here to scare people. I doubt this site will ever go to paid. POF tried to charge for seeing who viewed you last year and there must have been a huge backlash because that was free again a week or two later.  I hope they do police this site to some extent. One site I use has deteriorated into nasty hateful posts full of foul language on one of the forums because no one moderates it anymore.

I don't think it'sa buy out! As far as the ads, that's how sites make their money. Even if it's another dating site ad! But in the event it is, I don't think they'll be charging.If they did they already know they'll lose at least 60 to 70% of the members here now! Their is no money to be made on DHU as a pay site. If all this is to be, then it's no big deal as far as dating! This is what it's labled as. A date hookup site. Not really aiming at a relationship site! Not much dating going on with members anyway.

Got that right. The Hookup name limits it's marketability. It is a good bait and switch site.

And get this, I figured out from what I've seen in the forums is that basic membership is still free, but you can "upgrade" to something called gold membership, just like POF, I guess.
You won't be able to see an upgraded members messages in the forums unless you upgrade.
So there it is, folks.
