I believe that the white men in this country will not vote for a black man OR a woman. This nation remains
racist and anti female. Just listen to some of the conversation around you on a bus, in a bar, at
the store. That said, I hope I am wrong!!
I will vote for whoever runs, of course. To be honest, I would have respected Senator Clinton greatly
had she returned to poor ARKANSAS where Bill was governor and helped the people of that state,
rather than choosing rich, sophisticated New York. Boundless respect, had the Clintons returned
to the south.
Mcclain will beat the nationalistic, patriotic drum and also the scare drum of "terrorists" and
"extremists". He will have big money and many fools supporting him. If Obama chooses someone
like Kerry, that would be the best for the country and the election, I feel.

If he gives into pressure and selects Clinton, it makes for an exciting ticket, but given that his
race will cost him thousands of votes, is it the best? Even my own relatives, good Democrats,
have been turned off by Clinton's shrillness, as they perceive it.

^^^ wrong ...

The mere fact that a black man has captured the nomination of a major party indicates, beyond any shadow of doubt, shows that a majority of the people are voting rationally not emotionally. While yes there are many people that will never vote for a woman or a black ... those are clearly in the minority.

You are right about Clinton(s) as having more negative than positive ... her refusal to acknowledge Obama's victory, shows the type of people they are .. and do you want eight years of that???

Combining a black with a woman on the same ticket, (which may be a win/win for progressives), provides something for everyone else to vote against.

Welcome Gary and Alice!

I think this is your first visit here? Or maybe I should say that I have not met either of you. There is a small but devoted group that gathers here. For some reason they have been sort of absent for a while. I'm sure they are just busy!

Glad to have you both. Always good to find people with whom I have something in common. Post any time and eventually there will be a response.

I would like the admire the history that has been made but it is very difficult to see the honor in Hillary. My father always told me that anybody can be a good winner but it takes class to be a good looser. I think all those years that I defended the Clintons were...I don't know...if I knew then what I know now! Bill was still a great president but they just don't know when to stop!

I agree, Hillary should not be on the ticket. Too much history, they will try to dominate, you can't run on change when it's more of the same old Clinton history, and unfortunately, a black and a woman might not fly very well.

Who would be the most likely person for VP? There are quite a few names being tossed around, what do you think?

Welcome!!!!
