So many different things to do. The zoos, parks, festivals, fairs, live theater and flea markets are only a few.
How about taking a boat ride, maybe going fishing.
A cookout with friends, shows how you are around your friends and what kind of friends you have.
Try something they never done before, just throw out some ideas and see how they responsed. I once took a gal to a gun show, she never been to one before and found out it was not what she thought it was. She had a great time.
Just so many things to do other then dinner and a movie.

hi Miss Dillpickle .... I always thought a coastal drive if you are near the coast would be a great date. My date once took me to Star-bucks for chatting then we headed out for a coast drive. He had set a picnic basket with the following:
Fresh strawberries, dark chocolate bar, whole wheat crackers, artichoke-parmesean dip (yummy) sparking berries drink, and a bouqay of fresh gerbera daisies. It was so nice and romantic. If you don't live near the coast, well then maybe a country drive with a picnic basket. Are you a sports fan? Maybe a baseball game together. A museum is a nice thing to do together. Maybe get a massage treatment together? Just some ideas .....

Oh No,
Anything can be a date. Some of my best dates have been atypical.
Going to a book store and poking fun at some of the topics of the books.
Art Gallery
Museums
Some of the best date museums are the little town ones like a train or trolly museum.
A theme restaraunt
Street fair
Flea Market
Town Event, Town lighting of the Christmas Tree.
Beach
ssshhhh dont tell anyone. I dont shop. I materialize. When I walk past a store a bag appears in my hand with the things I need. Ok, with that said, [looks both ways] dont tell anyone. I went on one date with a woman to some outlets. We explored and just had fun with the types of stores there. Now keep that hush hush, ok?
picnic grounds along the deleware river
showed my date upstate NY.
Ice cave Moutains
windsurfing
I have more but that is to start.
I just saw where you live. Oh sheesh, see that is the problem with us NY'ers. We live rignt in the middle of things and we need advice for dates?
shesh, the walk ways along the beaches,
Jones Beach bike path,
Roosevelt Mall,
Green Acres Mall (not sure if they are still there)
museums
any of the bays,
sheepshead bay ooo la la with all those restaraunts.
any of the parks. Do you know that most of the rest of the country does not have parks like NY does?
Central Park.

BBQ/Picnic on the beach or in a nice park. You could take one of those little propane or charcoal grills and do some gourmet-ish foods. Here's a sample menu:
Mediterrainian Salad with raspberry vinnagrette dressing
Grilled London Broil
Grilled Corn on the cob or asparagus
and....for dessert:
Grilled Pears
Here's the pear recipe:
Peel, halve and core pears
Coat with walnut oil
sprinkle brown sugar on pears
(Hint: do the above steps and place in gladware to take with you)
Grill pears for approx. 15 minutes (flat side down) until golden brown
Remove from grill and top with:
Chopped walnuts
Blue cheese crumbles
A splash of red wine vinegar (very little)
Garnish with a few slices of proscuitto ham
Good luck

Lol
Sometimes we(Locals) take the boardwalk for granted
But imagine the ocean kissing your face as you see the whole beach from the top a Ferris wheel , the smells of summer , the lights , seagulls people laughing , arcade games
It's a Carnival at the sea and everyone has a smile on their face
The ocean kissing your feet as you walk on the sand and the waves crash on the shore
Lovers kissing , oblivious to the passer byes and the moon looking down on you
I love The Shore
