I actually disagree relationships that begin from lust tend to turn out badly. We all have that discernment in our hearts of who is worthy of love and who is worthy of lust. If your at a bar or club it's lust no gf material there. You'll know when it's love.

Yes .. every relationship usually starts with lust then in time as you come to know the person it can turn to love ..
It's happened to me once or twice. But I tend to be very careful not to let myself get caught up with emotion. I usually stop seeing the person if I feel i'm getting emotionally attached.

I would say more that lust keeps our attention, while we develop love (or not). Though love (or at least the feeling of being in love) may come on fast when lust has a grip.

I do the same...I withdraw from that person that would be a threat to me of getting hurt and all he wants is purely sex.

Someone pointed out earlier, that MOST relationships BEGIN with lust.
Here's how it usually works.
Guy/girl sees another PHYSICALLY attractive guy/girl and has a  LUST moment.
Guy/girl approaches the other PHYSICALLY attractive guy/girl.
The 2 go on a few dates, the girl holds back to demonstrate her "virtue", the guy waits patiently, knowing that "good things come to those who wait".
After the obligitory "waiting period", the 2 FINALLY do the deed, fulfillig their LUSTFUL desires.
Afterwards, IF the sex is good, the 2 decide to CONTINUE doing the deed, until eventually, one or the other wants MORE than just sex, THAT is where the LOVE starts to blossom.
It all depends on how a person handles the situation.
Lust can turn to love, and love can turn to hate.

Lust is lust. We guys lust after women all the time that does not mean each and every female is girlfriend material, The one thing that crosses our mind is, " damn I would tap that ass" not," damn I would buy that girl flowers and chocolates" I would say upon first meeting a woman you get the girlfriend vibe or you get the lust vibe it's two different feelings.
