Come on, even us city folk go to the country on occasion! Share your favorite small town in this great
state. I will pick Hyampom! It has the Trinity River, where I spent some years in younger days
skinny dippin' and rafting. It is dang hard to get to, and the Hyampom Valley is beautiful.
Oh, where is it? Trinity County.

I agree. It is a little "gem." I have been there many times. A lovely drive to get there. A beautiful place to enjoy.

Yes Julian is indeed a beautiful little town. Its the town I got my first 'baby' from.

We were camping and came into to town to get apple pie. While strolling down the main street I saw a woman placing a sign on her truck "Free Puppies".

My first mistake was reading the sign, my second looking at the puppies...........

I had Julian Beare for nearly 14 years. He was like one of my children to me, all ways a lap dop (even at 90 lbs lol).

Twin Bridges, California. Last time I checked it was population 10. I used to go hiking up Horsetail Falls right behind the "town." It's up Highway 50, about 3/4 to Tahoe from Sacramento.

The store, post office and bar at Twin Bridges are gone. Where they were is now a parking lot for people climbing Horse Tail. I spent all my summers while growing up four miles west in Strawberry. My folks still have the cabin. I've only been up for three weekends this summer.

My favorite small town is near where I live now...it's 14 miles away, and...we're getting sidewalks downtown...!!!

I spent much of my life in Calistoga, but it's not nearly as good as it used to be..it's now so frigging touristo oriented, with Tshirt & trinket shops where we used to have a bakery, shoe repair shop, auto parts, clothing, etc...it used to be a fairly self contained town, but, it's now overrun with tourists every day of the year...we used to have the town to ourselves "in the old days" 35 years ago...and this is where I learned to fly...

With the closing of the auto parts store, if you need parts you now have to go to either St Helena, Middletown, Healdsburg, or Santa Rosa to get car parts, and if your car isn;t running...you're screwed...

The spa my friends used to own was sold to th esame jerk the bought Indian Springs, & also bought th eairport & closed it down...and there has been a bunch of new homes built in th elast 25 years that the population is now almost 6,000...

I used to spend alot of time hiking up to the old stage coach way station, * if you know where to look you can still see the ruts in the bedrock from the iron rimmed stagecoach wheels...

Calistoga was founded by the guy who announced the gold discovery at Sutters wood mill to the world in San Francisco, after having the ore assayed...but not before he bought up every pick Z& shovel he could get hi shands on...his name was Sam Brennan...

Shit, my power just went out & I'm on a UPS, so I better shut down...

My parents rented a cabin there one summer and I brought my really girlie friend with me.
After a night getting tick bites and seeing her first black widow she vowed never to "camp out" again. I'm still in the tent she's RV forever!!
