Some ask me why I don't normally date from this site ( I usually find decent women on that Puddle of Fools site).
I get the usual plethora of 30-year old bad English one pictured Nigerian Scammers looking for the fat 40's educated single desperate man. I kill their profiles off quick with a FLAG.
I also get the well shaped Russian 40 year old hookers . . . you know, "I like a man who spoils me . . ." in the profile and then want to talk CA$H, types. And I dispatch their profiles, too. Call me FLAG HAPPY but they annoy me.
This weekend however I was approach by Bachelorette Type #3.
She approaches me. I read her profile. Look at her pics. She even had one in a nice kilt costume.
So I e-mail her back. A few e-mails about where we come from, what we want. A phone call. So I ask for a F2F at a safe place, Jamba Juice at 1:30pm on a Saturday. If we like each other, then we can arrange a first date.
Then the first flag. Cancel the F2F she wants to go straight to dinner. I suggest a place. No she had a place in mind, and it's not "SHIP"; her spelling of cheap.
I tell her we should do an F2F first. Or I could pick a place.
She texts me that I am rude and SHIP. Says I only want sex. OK, I got her pegged. Tells me I am too broke to afford a dinner. To lose her number. She is looking for "something else".
Frankly, so am I. NEXT!
I told her thanks for the restaurant recommendation. I will be taking one of my "cooler" female friends for dinner there.
I have met many very cool women in different states from this site. Most, want a Meet-N-Greet at a safe place first, Starbucks, for instance. Some meet for dinner but insist on going Dutch. (Smart & Cool)
I have been burned before, like the chick in Detroit who picked the restaurant and refused to order food but ordered a Long Island Iced Tea behind my back . . . free drinks for her and she had no car so free ride, too.
Bry

Well I never expect an expensive dinner on the first meets unless the guy really wants to. I do prefer dinner meetings but on the first date I either offer to pay my own way or suggest something inexpensive or I carry money with me in case the date goes bad i will offer to pay my share or at least pay as much as I can afford. I never ever use a man for a free dinner. If a man pays even if the date is horrible and the guy is a mental case, i still show appreciation.
I been accused of the free meal deal and I hate that. I had a date that failed to tell me he was mentally retarded ( lights were on but noone at home ) as well as posted pictures 20 years out of date so I ended the date fast and offered to pay my own way. he refused and insisted on paying. As soon as I told him I do not want to see him again I got accused of using him for a free meal even tho I tried to pay my own way

Whether we want to admit it or not...Everyone who has been dating longer than a few months, have been the victim, or at least been the target of a scammer or gold digger.
Once I discover their intentions...That's the end.

Cool replies. To all my insightful DH Friends.
I thought about posting this in S&D Chat, but most of that crowd would just read the PICTURES, lol.
I guess I have been doing this awhile. The pre-screening is not just for my benefit. I think it is wise for both parties.
I am also not above the occasional "hook up" where we've never met, but meet in Vegas and see what happens when distance provides no other reasonable alternative.
But when it comes to Nigerian Men, Russian Hookers, and angry divorced Gold Diggers looking for a quick ride, drink, meal . . . I am a Great Big Sheppard's Pie of opportunity. DOH!!! Green Eyes and All.
Happy St. Patty's Day.
(Waiting for my wise friend Cornelius to weigh in)
Bry
Now let me dress in Black on go see if I can get my Irish Bry Fanny Pinched (Though my luck it will be by a DH Tranny )

i never met anyone off this website. It has noting to do with this site. datehookup means date or a hookup or whatever. All men are the same regardless of how you meet them.
I had a date about 2 years ago. nice man but he wanted to make out before even knowing one another and at dinner he was talking about moving in, setting up house with me and meeting his mom. Needless to ay I never saw him again. And of course he went totally postal and blocked me when I pointed out that it was creepy to talk about moving in and meeting mom on the first meeting.

(...) All men are the same. (...)
This has definitely got a ring of truth to it.
Similar to this are these other great philosophical insights:
"You can't step in the same man twice" (Diogenes)
"You can't both date and not date the one and same man at the same time and in the same respect." (Socrates)
"Gimme your hot thighs, silky smooth and creamy soft, and wrap them around my face and neck" (Sappho)
"To truly be is to do a woman" Aristophanes
"To do a woman is what truly is to be a man" Hume
"The essence of man is to do a woman" Sartre and Spinoza (joint effort)
"Real men don't eat quiche" this true.

Absolutely!! I agree! My experience has been also that all men want to set up house with you and want to introduce you to their mothers. And they all go postal.
This is so true. Who wrote the book on men? He should be shot on the spot. Obviously he had to be a man, because -- between you and me -- they are all the same.

I'm with you Bry. There should be a F2F in a public place during the day preferably. For me Starbucks is perfect. Find out if we even want to go on a date. Though, my last date was a real date. To appease my F2F he took me to Starbucks first then we went out and played pool. It was fun and he was a total gentleman. His original idea was to get dressed to the nines and go dancing. A bit much for me the first time I meed someone. lol

Mehhh just another thread to bash women.
I do not bash women. I have great respect for them. They are, after all, the superior gender. Without women there would be no civilization, just chaos.
Also, as I have said, I have had the great honor of having many really nice dates in many different cities due to internet dating.

Gold diggers aren't only women, they also come in the male format.
Women go for free meals in expensive restaurants perhaps, but Male Gold Diggers aim high and where it really hurts.
Also because they aren't that common, it is so much harder to recognize and then get rid of them.
