This turned out to be a hate thread. I hate that.
I may not be tall, or a midget (I'm five inches too tall for that, dammit), but I sure can dish out sarcasm in forums like any six-footer or strapping lady, and I sure am arrogant in real life.
I am proudly short, and we planned a short-men's parade in our city, but we got snowed in.
Anyway. Being short is not all that bad. I can fully cover my entire bodice in bed, clothes are cheaper, a bar of soap lasts twice as long, and the sergeant never picked me when he needed volunteers to pick up the unexploded mines from the field, to make it ready for the next batch.
There are a lot of other advantages to being short. I got a lot of pity-f**ks in my life. I get to go on the rides if the kids' tickets are determined by a line drawn on the wall. I get to ride women like they were horses, and they don't complain of the weight. (They do complain a lot about the smell, though.)
Disadvantages? Noboody listens to me. The bus rider closes the door or does not open it coz he can't see me, only hear me. I have to send the kids to pick up my drugstore items, coz there is now way to establish eye-contact or other forms of communications with the pharmacist. The last one I tried was shipped to a psychiatric institution because he was convinced he had been hallucinating when I ordered some drugs.
The bank tellers tell on me, with no fears, and when I want to see the game, form the outside, I have to stand on my own shoulders, or else tunnel into the ballpark.
Women sometimes use me as tampons the morning after, and I had to scream for a long time before I could convince a date I am not a pepperony, my head was in her mandibular cavity already.
I am sure the tall guys have their pros and cons as well. Everyone has SOME joy in life, some privilege, some unearned and repetitive success. Some have more than others.
Why do small guys have big egos? Because they have to vehemently establish their superior equality with other people.

@Rexmal, yes it's not easy being short. Folks have to look at the ground to even realize that I exist. The worst part is that when you get old you get even shorter.
Without a large ego, people will totally ignore you.
