Why is being beautiful a curse? |

I have seen on these forms how we put beauty down and if you are a female you are just a player or a trophy or as some have said a "Ho",slut or stupid. This goes for the guys too who are very good looking, we give them different labels but they mean the same derogatory terms.
Why do we do this ? Is it just pure jealousy?
I love and appreciate beauty in all things and I am the first to say if I find a woman or man beautiful,but lets all remember they want the same things that we all want in life,happiness,love and a since of being excepted by all who they are as a person.
I have yet to find the "take a second look" people on these forms putting others down,why is that I wonder?

I have a freind that is like that..whether male or female, if they are attractive, she puts them down..she refuses to date handsome men because she thinks they are all conceited a**holes, womanizers..My friend is not pretty in the face, but she does have a very nice petite body for a women in her late 40's.. I have told her that she is just being insecure with herself and I try to point out her good features so she may feel better about herself and not be so down on the "beautiful" people...she used to label me too, until she got to know me so I try to use our relationship as a way to show her how wrong she is about labeling attractive people..besides, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder....

Hi Lady,
Yes I too have had a friend who was similar to your's and I use to get so irritated with her that it effected our friendship so I stopped inviting her to things when I knew there would be beautiful people there
And you know she was very attractive in her own right!

People are insecure and put others down to feel better, there are some really smart, funny, pretty women on this site and i find myself wondering why they are not snatched up. Same thing for the guys, really intelligent, attractive men who make me laugh my ass off and they aren't taken either. Maybe it is just the anonimity (sp?) of internet dating-or maybe it is the fear of the unknown-idk  I read a lot of posts and the ones that get really mean and hostile, I chock up to "that is not someone I would like to know"-Can't compliment women if you are a woman, they think you are gay, but there are some women here who would be terrific friends-you can tell by what they post. I have always been a reader and researcher before I get involved in something, so maybe that helps.
Trying to deal with getting over an ex, not coloring everyone with the same crayon, is not easy, but a lot of people here by their advice,etc make me laugh and heal myself-sorry it is so long winded, but this whole weekend was drama city and peyton place in here- very interesting reads. You are not alone in how you feel!

Well i have to agree,why do folks run to the 10 when the 8 is the better choice.Sometime it the flaws that make the relationship better,for instance i cant cook to save my life,i burnt a corndog in the microwave.Man is stunk the house up.But i have agreen thumb and dont mind doing the dishes or cleaning house.

I can't say I have been affected by a curse of being beautiful! I am average looking. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I will probably get shit for this but... women do tend to be jealous of other women and can be really catty to each other.

I have too agree here, I know my old place of work would not put 2 women working together because of this reason, if you get one beautiful lady and one ugly one, well things can turn ugly pretty fast

Yes I agree but women will be women... I see men do it too occasionally but women do it far more! Like i said... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I would much rather be average looking and have a good personality than be beautiful and a total b*tch! Being a b*tch will only get you so far before your man realizes your true personality and gets as far away from you as possible.
