Dateline or 60 minutes or some show like that did a special on the Nigerian dating schemes. They actually tracked a guy down who had used the picture of a "regular Joe" from England. The pic was nice but not unrealistically GQ. The news program even tracked down the person whose picture had been "borrowed". It was a very good informative program.

PKK, it was a good show. They had even interviewed a woman who had been sending some guy money and she had spent several thousand dollars on her telephone bill to speak to him. He pulled that "sick in the hospital" thing. She was devastated by the fact she had been scammed.

You go girls!!! This thread has got some real attention!! Not just from good people, but also from the sorry scammers we are talking about. I have recently been recieving harrassing mail in my mailbox from them. Little do they know I am not scared of anyone but GOD himself. So if you are the scammers we are talking about, your best direction is to get the HELL off this site... for all of those who are enjoying this thread lets continue to get the word out about these sorry people!!!! thanks Trevor

Also there are scammers right here in the good old U.S.A.
they prey on people that appear vulnerable, I have known a
few women who were desperate for male attention, fell for the
lines, one was actually beaten and abused, then the bastard took
what little savings she had. One thing to steal money from
someone, but to burn emotionally people who have already been
hurt in a relationship or by life, is low scum, I am not a
violent person, but with these folks, could learn to be

You may want to check ou the anti scam site www.delphifaq.com. Lots of info on these Nigerian dating scammers. I've dealt with these scammers in the past and they're loads of laughs with the stuff that they try to pull to get you to part with your money.

Red flags: flattery, inflated credentials
Fast talking for fast decisions
Sooner or later, you will have a run-in with a sociopath. There are just too many of them—possibly 3 million sociopaths in America. And they aren't necessarily locked up in jail. Sociopaths roam through all parts of society, all areas of the country, all walks of life.
There is only one way to protect yourself from sociopaths: You must know what they are, and put your guard up when you start seeing the symptoms.
Sociopaths are prolific con artists. Here are some typical con artist tricks. For even more information about how con artists work, Lovefraud recommends The Complete Idiot's Guide to Frauds, Scams, and Cons, by Duane Swierczynski.
Lavish flattery
If you've just met someone who is overwhelming you with praise, attention and concern, be careful. Be particularly careful if you're lonely and looking for love—con artists know exactly how to play that tune.
Credentials—exaggerated and fabricated
Con artists may "prove" themselves by namedropping or volunteering detailed resumes or credentials. If you're at all suspicious, check their references.
Building your trust
Con artists will sometimes honor their commitments in the beginning so that you begin to trust them. They'll pay back initial loans, or appear to be unselfishly helping other people. Their objective is to get you to drop your guard.
The story doesn't quite add up
The con artist's story may have small inconsistencies or unexplained loose ends. If you ask questions, the con will glibly provide an explanation—which may also not add up. Or, he or she will sidestep the issue by accusing you of paranoia or mistrust.
"I need an answer now."
A crisis needs to be averted, an opportunity will disappear—whatever the reason, a con artist will want an answer right away. If you have time to think, research or ask advice, you may realize that con artist's plan is a ploy. The con will want your money before you figure it out.
Intense eye contact
Typically, when people talk to each other, they look each other in the eyes and then briefly look away. Sociopathic con artists often exhibit a "predatory stare"—unblinking, fixated and emotionless. It's not a sign of empathy—it's an effort to assert control.
Isolation
A con artist will slowly and subtly separate you from people who may question his plans. He may intercept phone calls from your friends. He may refuse to associate with your family. He'll tell you, "It's you and me against the world, baby." Soon, you're alone with him, snared in his net.

Go to my profile page and ck out the guy in the yellow shirt, I call him "Gods Gift To Women". He was my first scammer from another site. I keep an 8x10 colored glossy next to my puter so I can just look at his handsome face and to remind me to "be oh so careful". When he asked me for money , it broke my heart. My next two were from a "religious " site but they didnt get too far. They did try to put a worm on my puter but my anti virus caught it . They always want to IM u , thats when they slip u the virus.

yep i came across another one and am still collecting data on...about a man thats dying and last wish is to spread his wealth...his so called attorney is always calling from a pay phone... also insists that no need to show any documents to anybody...lmao...if only he knew....it will all be forwarded again soon...
