While I have been a member only a short time , compared to some on here , there IS an observation I have made . I have noticed a big similarity between what both , men and women want . I have checked out many profiles and find that men aren't the only ones looking for someone younger than themselves . I myself have stated I am looking for someone in their early forties to fifty-two so I also fall into this category . That being said I have also noticed that most women on here are looking for someone younger than themselves . Are we all vainly searching for " the fountain of youth " ? Does a younger partner make you feel younger yourself ? Any thoughts or opinions on this ?

hell I have said this before and I will say it again, I put a younger age on my profile cause I honestly have no clue how old the gal I am suppose too be with will be,
she could be 18, yet again she could be 55,

We've been here around the same time. I've learned that everyone is looking for someone based on their current circumstances. Some are looking for someone to compliment their lives and tend to look for companion qualities and others are looking to those who can supplement their lives and tend to look for financially secure or physically attractive or fit partner material. And I'm sure there is a lot of gray area between these two extremes.
In a sense you are right that some are looking to rejuvenate their lives by latching on and riding the coat tails of a seemingly more successful, interesting, opportunistic and energetic significant other.
Probably nothing wrong with that except for the fact that they may deluding themselves that the grass may be greener on the other side. It's only greener around the septic tank.

We all want to be happy. What we want and what makes us happy are almost always two different thing. Hopefully you find what you're looking for. But the search is pretty fun to. JMO

RE: Seeking the Fountain of Youth - I personally have been approached more by younger men; but, feel rather uncomfortable thus far in that setting. Age should not matter if you are compatible. However, I relate more to my own age group in conversing and reminiscing to certain things.
I do feel that many go the younger route and feel more complimented by the idea that someone younger desires them and they are flattered. It too is just a matter of how you do relate, what both of you have to offer and want from the relationship.

Men from age 20 (yikes!) up to age 75 (also yikes!) have indicated interest towards me. I think there are bound to be difficulties at either extreme. In general, I'm trying to stay within a 10 year span...younger or older. (38 to 59) Men in their 40s or 50s seem right for me....but...not completely ruling out other ages.
However, I've really enjoyed talking with men who are close to my age as we seem to connect better and have similar interests and experiences. My ex was 12 years older than me...so...I am enjoying talking with the younger guys (30s,40s,50s)...they seem so "full of life" in comparison. Although I know of some guys in their 60s that could dance or work circles around some of the younger guys.
In the end...it's all about the connection you make with someone...not so much age.

some of us search for the fountain of youth.... some for the fountain of funds... but I don't think there's a box there for how much money you want your potential mate to have? THAT would be interesting... talk about a can of worms!!!
anyway, on topic.... I set age parameters on my profile based on past experience. If someone outside of that comes and steals my heart? Well, so be it....
same with distance, etc... nothing is carved in stone.

I was not sure about age. So I put 18-80? cant remember, have to go check. I get more responses from men since I have opened up the age range. Some just to say hello, others of interest. I dont want to put an age limit on it. I go by personality and interests. However, I will not date anyone too young or too old...I would be their friend though. Being as I am younger looking and younger acting, men my age don't usually approach me. Most think I am lying about my age, or that my pics are old. I don't put too much faith in meeting anyone on line. Here to make friends, if anything comes of this, it will be a blessing.

Not looking for the fountain of youth.
Just someone within my geographical zone
to share a relationship built on trust, friendship
and equality.
And of course they have to be legal and not decrepit. (jk)
Seriously though, I would like for them to be within eight
yrs of my age, however, that is not always the rule.

the fountain of youth is found within yourself and not found in another person. I found mine while spending a lot of time in the hawaiian waters......... not really the water, but it inspired my inner energy
I think if someone only dates younger to find youth, they will just end up feeling older.
