start out skate boarding on a wooden floor because concrete and asphalt really hurts like...well you know...but on the wood flooring it is less painful

First of all, thank you all. Yes, we do go together like peanut butter and jelly. 
Second of all, I love my floor too much, I'll risk the pain  Wait cool idea, I'm heading to the riverfront boardwalk, thanks.
Third of all, I'm Puerto Rican and have my latina curves and bubble butt to thank that I haven't seriously injured myself yet...
... I just bounce right back up. 
That'll come in handy when you run me over with your grocery cart Krupa.

I’ve been skating for about six years I started when I was 12. before that I used to tag behind my 2nd brother and his friends and try to copy what I saw them do, but when I was 12 he saw that I was serious and he taught me secretly cause my moms worry was that I would fall and scar my face. u would think cracking my skull would have been a worst fate lol. we were street skaters nyc didn’t really have the cool skateparks like cali does and when they finally did get one they ending up demanding that a parent had to sign for u if u were under 18.
always wear a helmet (I do 98% of the time) and get elbow pads knee pads and wrist guards. kids trying to impress people don’t always do this but u wont have that problem.
start off practicing very slow, u won’t fall as often (but u will fall.) if u feel like its going out of control jump off. when u fall try to brace urself in a way that u don’t fall on ur knees or with ur weight on ur wrists. I can’t describe it, its more like a reflex from martial arts class, try to curl ur body a little.
I’ve heard people say try to fall on ur side but my brother did and broke his arm, had to have a metal rod put in and can’t skate anymore. real serious injuries do happen sometimes and even to experienced skaters so consider that and if it’s really worth it.
a cool trick for a beginner is to learn is an ollie. i posted a video of an ollie in the youtube section. good luck sk8ter gurl!!!

Awww China... sorry about ur bro that sux. You've probably already met my Soldierboi somewhere, he's competed almost everywhere here. Nope, I'm not gonna name drop just in case I see you at one of his skating events one day or something and I can be like "Hey China... THAT's my Soldierboi."
You rock for the tips though. I didn't even think about my wrists... duhhh of course, that's how I've been trying to stop my fall. Even when I try to jump off and brace myself, so far I've been slipping and landing on my butt. They should make butt guards for beginners, but yeah I would look look retarded. How about a skateboard made for two so when Soldierboi gets here I can cruise on the back of it and pretend I'm doing something? lol. Nah he's worth my bruises... I'm gonna do this right.
I won't be doing any ollies or anything anytime soon, but I have a few months to learn how to keep balanced and at least STAY on the board.

P.S. LOL at training wheels, and yes I will wear pants, Krupa. No comment on you in a thong.

funny thing i ended up riding motorcycles to be closer to my ex hubby when we were married, turns out he just wanted to go on week long rallies to be with women..
ironic thing is now i ride bikes and get guys looking all the time..
even his friends wanting to know if its ok to "hook up with me"
i love the bike now and im sure you will love skateboarding.
try it, you might just like it
