People's attitudes have changed over the years. Current generations have forgone the chivalry and fun of dating to just straight out being desperate and asking for or assuming that they are going to have sex. It's actually quite pathetic to see people beg like they do. I love to cuddle and cuddling absolutely does not mean sex.

Just sitting on the couch, watching TV, while holding hands is cuddling. It doesn't have to be all physical.

I agree as well. And I think online dating has had tremendous influence upon men & women interaction.

Online dating is like a sexual smorgasbord for dudes. There are literally tens of thousands of women if not more in every major metropolitan areas that advertise their dating availability. Men have a tremendous advantage on online dating since nearly all middle-aged women want to get married or remarried. Hence, women are put at the disadvantage of giving it up early in relationships or risk having a dude go back online to find who will be more that willing to accommodate him.

My ex-g/f started out online dating on what is probably the largest site. After a couple years & it not working for her she joined a few others. I was over her house last Friday. She told me she hasn't gone on a date all summer. She's in her early 50's. There are at least 10,000 women (probably at least 20,000) in her age range and geographical area. And that's on just one online dating site. There are far less men. Moreover, she's at a pronounced disadvantage due to her age, and CA family law that discourages remarriage. She has reluctantly accepted the probable fact that she has very low probability of remarriage. She has also accepted the fact, based upon her online dating experiences, that men contact her looking to hook up. Since she refuses to be used as an easy piece of ass, she rarely gets second dates. She has sworn to me that she has never hooked up with an online dude. I used to be skeptical. But now I think she's telling the truth. At best, we're friends. She has no reason t lie. And she has told me of dates she's gone on in which dudes had made it clear to her that they were in it only to get laid.

A horrible consequence of online dating is that it has taken courting and chivalry out of dating. I have yet to talk to a dude who uses online dating sources who doesn't view them as primarily facilitators of hooking up, not facilitators of relationships.

About a week ago I was BS'ing with a dude in my gym about how the 'net has corrupted people's abilities to communicate in person. They're so used to texts & emails, that they're lost on how to communicate interpersonally.
