oven is my best friend

Beck says bake for 45 minutes

A match of Call of Duty is roughly 7 to 10 minutes.

whenever I die around the 5th minute of the fourth match I will have 10 seconds to run into the kitchen and turn the oven off. run back pick up the controller and finish the match.

I taught myself by watching cooking shows and using recipe books. I started with the few they had on PBS and then when Food Network was born it all started moving fast. I get recipes from books and online, but more important is watching the shows and learning the techniques.

Tonight we had Haluska, which is cabbage, garlic, onion, bacon and noodles, and the remainder of the golumpkies from the night before. Over the weekend I roasted a pork loin and made 10 pounds of mashed potatoes. The oldest son and I had that for 2 meals and then the little kids had some Monday when they came back home. I also steamed broccoli that I got from the farm stand. Tomorrow I am making a shrimp stir fry with linguini and making the Alfredo sauce separate because the one kid doesn't like the sauce on her shrimp.

The kids are on a potato kick. I can't seem to make enough. The eat a bowl for snack. The younger one are 9, 11 and 12. They seem like bottomless pits. I would like to know how they eat and don't gain any weight, yet, manage to get taller. We don't have any junk food in the house. I try to cook as much as I can from scratch. It is hard now that I am working outside the home. So I am trying to use the crock pot more.

I also have been prepping for Thanksgiving. I make my own bread for dinner and my dressing. I use 3 types of bread and one of the kids has to have biscuits. I made the pumpernickel. Tomorrow I hope to get the wheat and cornbread done. I freeze the rolls and then the rip some up and toast them for the dressing. I made filling for the apple pies. I will also make pumpkin pie and pumpkin roll. We have quite a feast.

My desire to avoid these disastrous relationships made me pay better attention to cookbooks and use protection like a meat thermometer.

I will follow a recipe once then I don't need it any longer. I remember how it's made then I mess with it trying my own twist on it.
