as far as improving the team? While I was sad to lose Russell Martin, I was unhappy
that they resigned Burnett. I would rather they go ahead and try to resign
one of the other starters instead to contract extensions.
The Red Sox are the big winners so far!

The Red Sox had a fire sale last season but they are now making a statement that they plan to be contenders again.

Rumor has it that John Lester wants to come back to Boston. The Yankees have done
nothing yet this offseason. Will Arod even be a factor next season?

Thinking yanks are the last place a free agent goes....so Yankees know what Boston signed so they don't want to be out done. Payroll is tight but that was a lie last winter...so during Christmas yanks will be heard loud and clear...

Well Mr. Cashman I must say your offer is tempting but since we don't use that stupid DH rule in St. Louis there is no spot available for A-Rod. Now if you want to make that a two years supply of Twinkies I might reconsider your offer.

Aj Preller is going for executive of the year.
Kemp, Myers and Derek Norris and still have kept Cashner, Kennedy and Ross. Now we need to get a 3rd baseman and maybe a shortstop.

Padres respon for only $75 mil over 5 yrs of contract...arthritis effects people diff ways...problem is no DH in NL but trade was finalized a few hrs ago and if Kemp can't go insurance pays imo as he was ok when contract was signed..no matta what Kemp will demise eventually but playing out field will be tough on balls in gap...he could DH maybe but what team in AL would be interested at $15 million per yr...Fuhgeddaboudit

Let's say this Troy Tulowitzki coulda replaced Jeter if Troy Tulowitzki pushed that but not on bad hips repaired like A-Rod and Kemp in a way plays outfield but to play first isnt easy too and no one put a gun to Padres heads to say no deal but there has to be more about this transaction to come about.,,doctors give physicals before trades are completed...what was in their report or findings...is there enough for kemp to live out the rest of his contract then retire and have hip replacement then or does pain demise him quicker...padres park is not a hitters park for sure, more a pitchers. ..i like kemp and it's best he left dodgers...but not at expense of injuries to come or he favors the hip more but that is compensating his overall set of wheels to caution..how does he cover gaps and at first base look at yanks teix, a great firstbase man but he's slipping on power numbers because of wrist...maybe another deal is in works for padres involving kemp to AL...but i doubt it...other teams would void a deal for him if they heard about hips...why didn't padres plus myers is coming back from injury that affected his power numbers in second half of last season for Rays...yet they trade for him too...Fuhgeddaboudit jmo

I'm sure whatever arthritis he had didn't just come about in the last 2 1/2 months. With his arthritis he led baseball in the 2nd half of last year with 17 home runs and 54 rbi's. Petco Park is considered more of a pitchers park but the fences have been brought in a couple times in the last few years. It is more suited for right handed power. We also picked up Justin Upton this morning and Will Middlebrooks also. Padres easily have one the off season. Now we just need a healthy season.

Half the team is sick with a virus. We made some good signings and we have some good kids on the farm, but they take them along so slowly they might not hit the majors til they're 35! We need them RIGHT NOW.

Still we're better off than Boston. I wondert if they'll get in the home opener before the All Star break with 107" of snow and all the flooding that will be around if it melts.

You might not need much starting pitching with the bats in that line-up because the Red Sox will score a lot of runs this year.

the Yankees starting pitching is also a huge question mark. Who besides CC is even
in the rotation? I actually can't even name 1 player who will be playing in the infield
for them.

^^^^ worry about your pirates...the yanks aren't worrying about your pirates, that's for sure...right now CC is coming back from a surgery and if you read the paper or your watched your favorite sports show there's reg everyday players returning and best bullpen of setup guys and two possible closers is yanks strength/ and if yanks have the lead going into the sixth inning it's over and two scenarios. ..one is a starting staff that will surprise or one suspect..teix, headley at corners and one two punch in Gardner lf and Ellsbury cf and beltron in rf...McCann behind the plate... forgot A-Rod at DH...everyone's favorite player...cough...key to yanks season is what SS and 2nd base gives yanks...the yanks are stock piling young arms and by the start of june the pitching staff should take off or taje a backseat if the staff does not.meet expectation...i expect yanks to be a better team then last season and again should yanks have a lead by 6th inning watch out with their bullpen...Girardi strength is handling his staff and to get over 500 last season at Team Summary | 84-78 | 2nd place...with all injuries yanks had girardi coulda been mgr of the yr working rethreads into starting staff but again 2015 should be more a hit more then a miss if yanks stay healthy first..

the Pirates just need Pedro Alvarez to be average at 1st base this season. They
should be fine in both the infield and outfield. The pitching staff returns most of
their starters plus they have great depth in the bullpen.

so who didn't get better? what team or teams will be this season bottom feeders.

1. Phillies- they are stuck with too many bad contracts for years still

2. Colorado- they have only 1 star player but he can't stay healthy.

3. Atlanta- Fans be patient, the new ballpark will be opening soon!

what do you think?

I love girardi. .i dont like the way they're not pursuing the cuban players of late but for what girardi is given to play with is suspect...if no injured expect good season, career seasons, a real winner. ..disappointment and aging players girardi gets blame...long contracts always blame..disaster loves company. ,,George arise...

My team is doing nicely.

I love the Mets chances this season, and I am looking forward to some meaningful baseball all season long on into the playoffs.

I think they are the most underated NL team.

I understand that because of all the previous losing seasons, but I think the Mets are poised for contention.

Here are some of the main thing I think people are over looking.

Number one, our pitching.

Harvey is the real deal, and he has been looking great this spring. I think he will be one of the best pitchers in baseball.

We also have the rookie of the year degrom.

We lost Wheeler to Tommy John surgery but it looks like Noah Syndergaard is ready to make the big leap to the majors.

Neise is a very good pitcher and Gee will fill out the rotation as the 5th starter.

I think they will be one of the best rotations in baseball.

Add to that our Gold Glove center fielder lagares leading off.

A good young catcher in darnaud.

Duda and his power on first.

Murphy at second at the top or near the top of the list in hits.

And bounce back years from Grandy and Wright.

I am totally pumped about my Mets.

Lets Go Mets.

If George were to arise he would still have Joe managing his team but his last name would be Torre. I'm just messing with you buddy.

Still think that the Mets made a mistake by bringing the fences in. By how much I don't
