Imo, the confederate flag was a symbol of the division of the nation; as well as illustrating the different values and beliefs on each side. Sad.

I don't think it'll come down. It has different meaning to different people, there's different sites explaining the differences.

Being across the pond i've always found it a lil strange as to why the confederate flag is carried around and flown on poles and cars ect.. Due to the history and so forth.
That was until I watched an interview with a rapper called Yelawolf, he's from Alabam and he explained the reason he carries it, he talked about how its his heratige... Also a reminder of the past and he said it should always be remembered.. The reason for this? So mistakes and choices that took place back then arent repeated.

I tend to think that the majority that fly it wish they'd won the civil war. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think that would've been a bad thing for us, both as a nation and for humanity as a whole.
It may be flown in ignorance, or a misguided attempt to support their home states...or it may be a more dark reason. I haven't lived in places that tho is done, though.

I would be very surprised if it did happen. I find it odd, why so many want one Flag taken down, while 9 States issue Confederate Flag licence plates, to many 10s of thousands, of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. On top of that, that failed abortion Roof, was wearing flags from the Apartheid in South Africa and from another radical African nation. I have a hard time believing many have any true knowledge, on this issue or that Flag. And I am one of the Sons of the Union and G.A.R.

I agree. The flag has never really been bothersome. The real issue is that Dylan Roof wasn't made an example. Him dying as a martyr is one thing but putting fear where it needs to be put is another. It would be nice if we could handle this problem where it needs to be handled.

It will. The Gov has already ordered it. They can't really deny they led the rebellion, but they're doing it so nobody might feel offended. I suppose they'll just exclude that part of the state's history or engage in revisionism.
