When your average run of the mill worker screws up and costs a corporation a few bucks he gets canned and escorted out of the building. When a CEO screws up and costs a corporation billions he is asked to resign and leaves with a "Golden Parachute",they even get rewarded for incompetency.

Quote from aposorichie:
The CEO position takes a lot of education, and skills to acquire.

Yep very few have the stamina to earn an MBA, Meng, and a CPA with years at a

fortune 500 company. That is why they command such salaries and benefit packages.

You think that mister Joe average can do the the job but you would be wrong FC.

Yes..wrong.

The guy making the decisions will always make more no one says their pay should be equal...

but under $10 hourly...to over 10K per hour is ridiculous...

and that is what we are talking about here...

some CEO's make the equivalent to over 10K per hour...all the education in the world does not justify such pay...

and if that is acceptable how is $7.25 the floor...

Again the result of trickle down and mega corporations...now the majority of voting share stock holders are going to support the huge salary...as they too are in that 5% and they are all for paying the production workers starvation wages to increase their bottom line...

That is exactly the reason. It is common knowledge that it is expensive to eat healthy. I know where you are going with this. That poor people are poor because they are lazy. It's common sense really. Part of the reason some food is cheaper than others is because of the shelf life. If you pump in a shit load of preservatives in something, it will have a longer shelf life which will make it cheaper. Things that spoil quick have to be able to recoup the costs of possible spoilage. Not a problem with foods pumped with preservatives. And for the most part, preservatives are counterproductive to a healthy life. I would save a lot of money if I was willing to lower my nutritional standards. But I'm not, so I'll continue to pay more. Plus I've got the money so it's not really a problem for me.

As a soldier..he is far better than someone on welfare who is NOT working for the pay they get from the government...

If he is in the US military his pay does however come from socialism...

No he is retired from the military and receiving retirement pay while still in his very early 40's or possibly as early as his late 30's, taxpayers will support this loafer for the rest of his natural life.He is the prime example of socialism and doesn't even understand that??

That really bothers you, doesn't it?

First, he made a contract with the government. "You do this, you'll get this." Same as YOUR social security and medicare. Though you had no choice.

Here's what a retired enlisted can expect to draw.

E-6 with 20 years 22300
E-7 with 20 years 26500
E-8 with 22 years 34100

Hardly the lap of luxury. This guy can't be loafing and expect to get by on that. Consider the E-6 and E-7 were making twice that before retiring plus housing and subsistence allowance. That's still not a lot for the job and responsibility. Then add on missed birthday, graduations, and anniversaries while on deployments to dangerous places.

No. pal, you're completely out of bound.

ps. He also pays income tax on that retirement.

Name a solitary non governmental job where you can begin receiving retirement while in your 30,' or 40's.......it ain't gonna happen except in government jobs. Some cops and firemen. That is not comparable to Social Security and Medicare which are CONTRIBUTORY PLANS!!The military and other government workers don't contribute.

In hindsight I should have gone into the military. It would have been a time of relative peace. In after Vietman, out before Iraq. Hindsight 20/20.

I'm also retired military, though I went a different route. Six years active and 17 years of active reserve. Monthly meetings and 2 weeks annual training.

My monthly meetings consisted of 4 four hour periods per month usually on a sat/sun. Each period was a day's base pay. Four day's pay in two 8 hour periods. Sweet, huh?

My AT was usually 2 weeks which I combined with a family vacation. I received base pay and NON-TAXABLE allowances. We got to see Boston, Willamsberg, Disnyworld twice, Pike's Peak, Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, San Antonio twice, and Washington DC twice. Sometimes I'd take a week's paid vacation and a week's military leave. Supper sweet, huh?

Here's the kicker! MY employer even made up the difference between AT base pay and my salary.

For my reserve time and active duty, I receive $17,700 per annum WITH COLA.

My career was Air Force. Hotels on per diem or base housing. White sheet and dinner with the family, if they were close by. Hear what adventures the kids had. Joining them on week ends. My work week was Monday thru Friday, 8:30 to 4:00 in an air conditioned building.

So, call it what ever you want, pal. I'm laughing at Falcon and now you, every month when that check shows up. Ultimate sweet, huh?
