It would depend for me. My daughter is in 6th grade and while we moved from Nebraska to Iowa I don't think I would want her to have to move again. I was moved all the time when I was growing up even half way through my senior year. I don't have any friends that I went to school with because I didn't get to make those bonds all through school. I for one would have a very hard time taking my 2yr old away from her dad. I think she needs him and he needs her. Not to mention trying to find a job like I have know. I guess one can never say what the future will hold. Plus, my ex could say no I can't move her depending on how far away she is.

For me it would really depend more on him and how things are between us at that time. My son is young enough that schools arent an issue but I am not going to drag him off to someplace because I like some guy. He would have to be someone pretty special!

OK, I have a story to tell. When my oldest daughter was a freshman in high school, I did uproot her and move to marry a man. My younger daughters (now 14) father. She hated it and hated him because of it. She ended up running away and moving in with my parents until I got divorced and moved back to where we started and then she came home. So, I would never make that mistake again. It hurt everyone involved. Well, that is just my story anyway. Take it for what it is worth. KJ Oh, by the way, that daughter is married now and we are still very close.

syn I do understand what you are saying, we cannot base all of our decisions on what our children want. They will grow up and move out someday, and they will not be worring about what we are doing! lol But all things must be considered and kids are a big issue when it comes to a move. Right?

syn, no one implied it was a crime against humanity, lol...just that it isnt as easy to do after serious consideration of the 'possible' aftereffects...

As a child who was moved around a lot through school I do know where a lot of these women are coming from, but I also know that the kids can adjust. It just really matters on why you are making the move.
