I have had two of mine for 15 years (Casper, the Pure White one with the "odd" eyes, and Patches, the Calico) one for 10 years ( Chloe, The Ragdoll). Moochy, the Himmie, is around 8 and I have had her for 5 years, and Junior, the "Baby" is 4. I would never think of giving them up! I am the only person who knows their Bad habits!! I also recently lost my Boyfriend/Soulmate of 13 yrs, to Congestive Heart Failure/Lung Cancer, and the kitties are what has kept me "going"... Sounds kind of "strange" but while waiting for the Coroner to arrive (4 hrs) I finally had to let the two "younger" ones (Junior (White/Gray) and Moochy (Himalayan) out of the bathroom, where I had confined them, while the Paramedics did their "thing". I almost died laughing, when they started to pull the sheet off of John, and then they started hopping across his body a-la "Leap-Frog" style. I am sure John was smiling down on us, then! (He would have LOVED it!!!)
Patches, (the "obvious" Calico) was his Birthday gift, 15 yrs ago, (from his youngest daughter) and she is my "special" Girl. I feel John's "presence" when she curls up on my chest, and gives me "CheekyRubs". Casper is the same age as Patches, and John is the only one he would allow to pick him up. (Now, he will also lay on my chest, but it is on "His" terms; he will still not let me pick him up, even after having him for 15 yrs.)
Chloe is just a Sweet little "Girly-Girl" She was my Mom's Birthday gift, from John and I, 10 years ago. Whem Mommy became ill and had to use Oxygen, we had to take Chloe back into our home. She is great with the "Headbonks"! I love all of them dearly, and any new guy who comes into my life, will have to pass the "Kitty-Profiling" Program!
