For the most part people are not honest online.I think you'd never really know someone until you meet and see what they're about.

I doubt it but ill try. Im 61 look like 50 act like 21-35. Teacher lookin for a friend to talk, drink beer on the patio and walk along river. Exercise 6 days a week, hike, read, canoe I wont promise anything but I wont lie either. Sperated 6 1/2 yrs in complicated, no drama, no change situation w no probs. Lettin someone buy u a beer or coffee and reviewing life is little risk. At least a friendship might result.

I think the problem there is that most people are afraid to show who they really are. That is sometimes the case because they have been rejected, or ridiculed for being who they are in the past.
It is hard to open yourself up like that on an online site because it is so impersonal, and also because you don't know who your REALLY opening yourself up to.
That is basically it I think. Look at what people see as the " competition" here. Does it make it right to not be truthful on here? Of course not. But loneliness can make a person do and say things they would not normally do or say online. And sometimes we just see ourselves differently than others see us. It's that way in the real world as well. True, we can SEE what a person looks like on the street but can easily be fooled as to what they are really about. So take a breath , relax and know you have to just weed them out here as you would in the real world. This is, after all, cyber world. Where else can you be anything you wanna be and get by with it. There will always be such people. That is life.

I don't really think that starting any kind of a relationship with a so called (white lie) is in any way a good thing, weather if be chat, or friendship, or looking for love, I really believe that a so called (white lie) is just a (lie), plain and simple. Next thing you know folks will be choosing how many different colors of lie that they can tell to one another, and just because you give the lie a designated color that makes it somehow okay? What has happened to moral values? Could be that I have this being honest thing all wrong, Maybe some one could respond and convince me that telling a lie about yourself is somehow a good thing. I have been separated since January, no lie, no going back, but in this economy who can afford a divorce when it takes all one has to make ends meet. I, for one, am honest about this and anything else, just ask  when it comes to looks I think Im average at 5'11" 225 lbs, am I mistaken? (yes, thats what I weighed at my last physical on the 10th of Sept.) With all that aside lets talk about compatability

We are rare types of men who will face life and know we must come clean. Also it depends on how they were broght up. Like me for example. I was brought up to respect everyone around me. It was that or a switch. I sure wasn't getting the switch. Anyhow sometimes yes you must lie to people like if they were dieing and you said no they weren't so to clam them. Also what do you think about people who think the most important thing in life is money.
