I love to go to cat shows! Anyone else love pedigreed cats? I have two Ocicats and an American Wire. (and, lest
you think I ignore the shelter cats, my house will go to ASPCA shelter when I die)

Hi Alice Kathleen! I love that you will donate your Home to Cat Shelters! My "dream" is to someday be able to have my own "small" shelter, I have a friend who lives in Coos Bay, Oregon, and she shelters about 20 Cats.(not a "Hoarder", but a genuine "shelter")
4 of my 5 are "Mutts", but who cares! They are still Cats! The one that is a purebred, the Flame-point Himalayan, I do not have papers for, because someone "unceremoniously" dumped her out of their car, at a fast-food place, in N. Palm Springs, Ca. I was working at a Truck stop across the street, and I just "happened" to answer the phone call, when the owners called to alert people to be "BOLO" (be on the look-out for) her. They did NOT make any attempt to come back and look for her.I went over there, 1-1/2 hrs later, and she was just sitting by a palm tree, waiting for her humans to return. She had on a harness & leash, and as soon as I picked her up, I found out she was fully declawed. It turned out that she had a "pee" problem, which I took almost 2 yrs to correct, using love, patience, and alot of Snacky-Treats! Their LOSS! She is now a very sweet loving and HAPPY Kitty! A Happy Ending!
Oh and to answer your question, I go to the Cat shows whenever I can! Love them!

You can. Contact a breeder and ask about retired show cats! I have a breeder now who has two retired cats (meaning
cats no longer used in breeding or show programs, reputable breeders retire their cats after a couple years)
to place, one male and one female, she is even going to deliver! I am going to take the female, I think. The
cats are neutered, CFA registered. I am not mentioning the breed to keep her privacy, since I fear she might
be flooded with email if I gave cattery name. There are also rescued pedigreed cats! The Siamese and Abysinnian
have very active rescue and placement groups. Finally, contact your local SPCA and say you want a pedigreed
cat and be willing to keep checking with them. People surrender beautiful pedigreed cats, especially in these
difficult times.

Until this year I'd never had a pedigreed cat. The best cats just seem to show up in your life when the time is right. Almost a year ago, Izzy, a pedigreed Ragdoll showed up in mine. Izzy's job in life is to look magnificent, and he does it well. Every time one of my friends comes into my home, he goes into the living room and sits on the coffee table, waiting for the friend to brush him... it's an entitlement, you see. He prefers the company of dogs over that of other cats, so he will be an "only" for the time I have with him, except for those occasions when we baby sit my daughter's Great Dane. I'd not hesitate to take another shelter cat, though, when the time comes.
