-a believer in himself and God

-can respect me

I dont know either. the real men for some reason are never around. And we dont have much of them at all. Cause the only kinds of men we have now and days are the fake ones who lie and cheat. All the fake men can do is be hoes and real big cheaters. We need to have real men now and days and we need to hope that we can have a lot of them. Most men like the fake ones only be with you and get you pregnant and then leave you to do for yourself. The real men would be men and do their jobs and take care of thier resposibilites.

I'm a professional and have a college education. I have traveled the world.. I have been a single parent for almost 10 years now..I raise my own, and, adopted another some time ago and raised her..I'm muscular and a very active dad. I cannot say Im good looking only you can see that. But I'm attractive.. I'm finacially okay,,, (sorry not rich)very independant, and very goal oriented.. Well, to some extent.. I think becoming a single parent can really change some of your long term goals when you set out as a family and end up on your own, not by your choosing..

So, heres the flip side -- Where are all the morally committed women????... Where are the women that are not shopping for a better deal?? I put my profile and pic up here and within a week got 3 hits... all within 20 miles of here and 2 out of 3 married, looking for ahhh i don't know what,,,, Not Me i knew that... .. Of course I set them straight and I have now re-did my profile because of it...so, I see many that are way too picky... I think maybe Mr / Mrs. right does not exist.. It's a complicated version of I'm happy to be stuck with you.

I think what is really being asked here is there men here that really want to find that special someone. A lot of times men as well as women play head games. I believe in spelling out what I'm attracted to and go from there. Unfortunately most of the guys my age are looking for someone 20 years their junior. Now, how realistic is that. If I were a man I would wonder if she were really just after my money or statis in life. Besides what would you have in common with someone your daughters age? A good marriage needs more than sex to keep it alive. If the deep down committment is not there it won't work.

I feel as though most people are making this far more complicated than it needs to be. This is of course my humble opinion and not intended to offend anyone who feels justified in themselves yet whose point of view differs greatly from my upcoming rant.
Why do do people seem to search for things which do not exist? A "real man" is a conceptualization which changes from person to person unless operating within the scope of broad generalizations. Just as miroku2235 stated (and it was hilarious) at the most basic and most general level it is indeed merely a base biological occurrence which enables one to define oneself as a "real man". Consequently, the search for a "real man" is one which is almost inherently pointless.
Now here's the good news for everyone currently searching for their own personal authenticate "real man" action figure complete with the Kung - Fu grip.
As I have stated before in previous posts - perception is reality. So if you're looking for a particular set of characteristics in your prince or if you just know what doesn't appeal to you in a person or if you're just living life and curious to see who crosses your path -- finding someone who makes you happy every day and who derives immense pleasure each time you smile is not impossible... although sometimes it may seem as such. All it takes are both luck, perseverance and of course - a willingness to let the aforementioned guy at least try to make you happy.
If you close yourself off to those who are willing to try then of course you'll never find anyone who meets your standards.
I'm not quite sure why I'm adding this but I'm in a mood to write a short poem on the matter and to a point I think it holds true:
Some men are models,
Some men are kings,
Some men are everything that they say and that they seem...
But close your eyes tightly,
shut your ears down...
and never,
not ever,
Will a "Real man" be found.

Oh and P.S. - I don't consider myself a "real man". I just try to be myself. I am eduacted, better traveled than most I know, and have a great family and a lot of cool people around me but a select few extremely close friends. If that's not what a particular person is looking for then cest la vie. The only life over which I have any semblance of control is my own so to that end I constantly strive to improve myself in both physical and mental realms, and at the same time I enjoy the vast majority of moments in my life (but I appreciate them all... eventually )
If everyone would get themselves situated before searching for a partner they wouldn't stress so much over the search and might actually enjoy it because they would be happy with themselves first and foremost.
Then again... after having said ALL that - Do whatever floats your boat - but remember... "They never got old, they always stay new, those three little words, 'please' and 'thank you'!" If a guy tries to be your prince charming and you think he's a frog - you don't have to be cruel about it... I mean at least we're trying right? don't we get some points for that?

Personally I think it is very difficult living up to a persons standards that you have never even met.We "construct" a version of what we think we want in our minds and it is very tough to find someone that fits the mold precisely.Compromise is not the same thing as settling for something.
People, all people,are on different levels of life.Some know where they are,some think they know where they are,and some don't have a clue.
If you find it hard to find that someone,it is probably because more often than not,you are just at different places along in life.
As a brief example,say here is "Joyce".She has raised her kids and they are out on theitr on.Joyce is ready to prowl for someone that fits her needs.But too often Joyce runs into many guys who have say,14 year old kids in school,a in flexible work schedule,etc.You see this can not work.It is always something.
I think everyone should just really make that extra effort to be honest with themselves as well as each other about where the are,in life,and where they are going or want to go.
I guess I am saying,please don't fool yourself and don't even try to fool others.
So take an honest look at yourself,if it makes you uncomfortable,fix it.
