So my question to you all is....does age really matter? Or is it nothing but a number to you?

To a certain extent, it does matter. I've dated women much older than me and I've dated much younger. Older women are pretty much set in their ways and expected me to change to suit them. The younger ones, I just didn't have much in common with. I've found that 5 years, either way is about right.

I am 26 and have dated guys that are 21 and they are not in the same mindset as I am. They do not want to steady date and are not ready to settle down in the next few years and start a family. Before I met my now ex husband, I dated a man who was 12 years older and he & I were great, but the age thing scared me, but I do like older men. So to me age is nothing but a number, and compared to most girls my age around here, I am very wise beyoung my age!

THAT'S the one I'm talking about!

When you are in your 20's, age doesn't really matter. As you get older, you will find that it does. I'm not trying to discourage you, just giving you my opinion.

Well see I just feel too, that I am a mit more mature than people my age. My mom died when I was 5 & my brother was 2. So when I was younger I helped raise my bro and did a lot of the cooking & cleaning around the house. I just had to grow up faster than most my age.

I totally understand what you are saying though, I value all opinions on this topic!!

Hi Teresa,

I don't think that age really matters. I am best friends with three other women, they are 36, 47 & 59 (I'm 47). We hang around with a wide range of ages, since we all come with ones our respective ages and then other friends we have found along the way. They all seem to get along just fine.

I've dated men between 32 and 57. Don't find that I enjoy being with one age more than another. It depends on the person and how well we get along.

So Age is just a number.

I have to agree with that, but I guess I'm hypocritical in saying it. My ex was 14 years younger, but age wasn't the problem.

I think the older you get and more experienced with life's ups n downs, life becomes less important. Kids in their 20's may still be not all together. Heck, some probably haven't even moved out of their parents basement yet, (like our buddy Scarecrow, or as someone called him, a goober??)

And finally on the subject... if age doesn't matter, how many people have their correct age listed on this site? Show of hands please!

So, are you talking about someone in particular? Or just generally?
