I live north of Mulberry and locals call it Mayberry. It's a quiet town, no bar and quite small (bar is 10 miles down the road). I have fantastic neighbors. I have gotten over 200 large round bales off my pasture the last three years (yea, it's small, but I'm not rich and I don't have forty arms). The place was the front yard of a plantation years ago and was homesteaded after that. The homestead burned in the early seventies and the trees overtook the place. I've cleaned it up and made it useful, plan to raise some watermelons and eventually horses. This is one "city" boy that isn't leaving. I'll be damned if the economy will make me move or anything else! I should think that people fortunate enough to be born and raised in the country would be happy to see "American's" willing to go out a give the country life a try, it could be Chinese or a number of other countries buying up our farms. Dont care what I have to do, my youngest is done school in June, somehow, I am getting back to the country! I miss having a Horse, some Cattle, feeking life. Weird, I was raised City, Dad moved us out when I was 16 and was mad at him like you wouldnt believe. Today? I miss the country so much, I have never felt at home in the City.
