Less than a week after the federal government committed $85 billion to bail out AIG, executives of the giant AIG insurance company headed for a week-long retreat at a luxury resort and spa, the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California, Congressional investigators revealed today.
…AIG documents obtained by Waxman’s investigators show the company paid more than $440,000 for the retreat, including nearly $200,000 for rooms, $150,000 for meals and $23,000 in spa charges.
Anyone here ANGRY about that?

i heard that many of them were threatened "if u don't vote for this the stock market will fall 10,000 points and the banking system will crash, it will be worst than the great depression blah blah blah". and most politicians are cowardly.

They raised it from 700 to 810 so they could Bribe the congress into passing this bill.
I feel physically sick to my stomach when i think about it, the only resort is to vote them OUT!
Show them that when they pass bills like that against the will of the public, there is a price to pay.
The End of their political career.

The not so funny thing is, is that it looks like this bailout is one of the few things reached in a bipartisan way..both Dems and Republicans on that list.

You can't think this is not all just business as usual do you? Just think of the smarter ones we will never hear of!
Truth be told, this population is far to supressed to really stand up anymore. We may complain, write letters, whatever. The gov. is too big and corruption way to deep.
Only way to really make a difference is to take away the money!
just imagine if the people in this country refused to buy a gallon of gas till the price came back to acceptable terms. How fast would the corruption go away?

What a questionable expense just after they received their first corporate welfare cheque. I thought that the $41,000 AIG gave to McCain's presidential campaign was for a corporate tax cut in January 2009.

Well did any of you notice AIG canceled their tropical trip because of media coverage.
Anyways the reason a lot of things seem to take so long to change is because once a person has completed 2 four year terms they right away jump into the next available office or will even jump parties to get into an available office. So it's the same views just serving a different office.
