Very interesting question. Is it a commited relationship? Was dating allowed before? Not to mention, "should a man who is going to have a baby soon.....", probabbly stands to reason that he should be calling Ripley's Believe it or not.

hey John good obsevation about the not being able to contact the younger folks...I changed my profile to read looking for ages 18 to 90 to get away from that restriction myself...I just thought hey I wanna talk to everyone no matter what age they are...This site is kinda funny that it does not allow you to contact people outside your age group...

b_red - I'm thinking you answered your own question...Look at the key word in it. EX-GIRLFRIEND....The only thing the man is responsible for it taking care of the "BABY"!!!
If the ex-girlfriend wants the father of the baby more deeply involved she must make it clear to the man as long as the split before was mutual and they are friends, perhaps amends can be made and they once again become a couple. If her being pregnant bothers him then the S.O.B. should be kicked to the curb and legally force to care for the child...

While it may be not the most respectful thing to do, since you guys are no longer together it seems is only obligation now is to his child (although with the woman being pregnant, she doesn't really have that same option that he does in most cases!  . I would only hope that once the baby is born, he will have the common sense to not introduce the kid to his g/f until he's sure it's long term so as not to confuse the child.

okay...let me elaborate alittle.I'm not the pregnant girlfriend. This guy is trying to date me, but rite now were just friends. He was a baby on the way, and alot of my family members are concerned cause they said he shouldn't be trying to be with other women, if he's gonna be a daddy soon. just wanted to know what others thought of this situation.

lol one thing about family members is that you'll never run short on opinions! Since you could potentially be the "other woman" it really depends on "the ex"....even if she's fine now, hormones go nuts during a pregnancy so I see a 75% chance of "baby mama drama"!

1. Is there a chance they would get back together?
2. Is the baby the cause for them splitting?
3. What are his intentions as far as owning up to his part, support and such?
I would think if you can answer those 3 questions for yourself, truthfully, then you should be able to come up with the answer.
There could be other questions, but I think those 3 should do it......

OK confused as hell. What does a past relationship have anything to do with him dating.... How is him having a baby on the way any different than if the baby was already born? So he should wait till the baby pops out??? Unless he is still "too close" with his ex... then the only thing that matters is whether you would date someone with kids

That's really in my oponion, a good question. Sometimes, having a baby together, or a death in the family, or something tragic happens, it brings them back together, so I would have to say at this point, put up a wall just in case something happens that you get thrown to the curb.
