...squeezing the toothpaste from the middle...leaving the toilet seat up... Judging from the ammount of threads I've seen about pet peeves, I assume we all got 'em.

But how do you deal with them? Do you argue about lipstick on the milk container or do you choose your battles wisely? Let's hear the honest truth & not some magnaminous gesture to make us appear that we are all mature, wise human beings... Does the way the toilet paper is hung really all that important?

yes, it does matter how the toilet paper hangs and yes it is important to squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom up. I don't care about the toilet as long as you put it down the last time you've used it for the night so I don't fall in if I get up in the middle of the night to go.

I have tons of pet peeves and they are all important to me.

Don't screw with my toilet paper holder METU!! the print is not made to hide, it is made to be seen. You always take money off the top, news from off the top and DARNIT, the toilet paper is supposed to come off the top and be readable. Besides, I don't want your filthy hands scraping the wall!!

Also, If I am sleeping and I have a phone call TELL THEM I AM SLEEPING, DO NOT WAKE ME!!

Rinse off your plate, don't just throw it in the sink and for cripes sake, don't drink out of the mouthwash.

I heard a rumor that several members of the Philadephia Phillies might become available "free agents" on the dating market, sometime soon. Was going to say Eric Lindros, but we all know how that went in the hockey world LOL.

Some of the peeves mentioned are rather petty
when looked upon from the outside.

All it takes to overcome most issues
is a little patience, and a few swats
on the nose with a rolled up newspaper.

At first I couldn't remember ever really fussing or nagging over my pet peeves but then I remembered I use to give my last husband heck over his dresser. It was always cluttered up with junk and I couldn't dust without moving all that junk. I am talking stacked up to where when you just touched the stack it all came tumbling down. I didn't dare throw anything away for fear it might be important. It was an eye sore to me. I never liked clutter. Sort it, put it away or throw it away was my motto. To be honest I gave that man pure heck no matter what he did. I don't think it was so much I was complaining about my pet peeve I just needed to B**** at him. I had my reasons for being that way with him but it sure is hard to admit I was a B****. Normally I don't complain about my pet peeves though. I just fix it my way and go on. I may mutter to myself about it but I don't start a fight over it.

My thing is putting the dishes away where they belong. How I handled it, I trained one of my sons and he became the dish person. Everything else either didn't bother me, or I just dealt with it. The toilet seat thing would bug me because I have no bladder, but I haved lived with only males, 5 at times, for 20 years and they never left it up, so it was never a problem.

One of my favorite comedians hit the nail on the head about the old toilet seat fight. Men don't complain when a women doesn't leave the seat up. Men don't sit down to use the toilet nearly as often as women and we have never heard of a man falling in. Before I decide about the lipstick on the milk carton dilema I need to know where else lipstick will be left
Relationships take give and take inorder for them to be peacefull, picking and choosing your battles is the wisest approach.

wish those were the problems

buy separate tooth paste
his and her own bathrooms
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

had that...

still didn't fix, core issues...
I have no problem with building and expanding space if needed.

but people will use these differences (pet peeves) to build up resentment and righteous anger
so that the underlying problem will not be brought to the surface...

i think many people are upset with the life choices that they make,
and to examine "why", they made it.. is painful.. and the results and loss of
other dreams, to unbearable.

So, they use pet peeves with their spouse, to set up arguments... that have easy solutions,
but they are not willing to do the compromise, or work, or expenses to fix it..

so the continual b*tching is almost a release valve, of underlying issues.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

common sense

such a building an extra bathroom...which is absolutely easy to do, is an easy fix.
call a contractor, already... geeessseeee.
