Its still early here in the mid-Atlantic, but I'm hopeful and excited. This country is turning in a new direction. Thank goodness.
Please share your thoughts about this election.
Please tell us what the results are in your locality and state.
Please share what significantly changed in your county/parish/state that led to the results.
Its a great time to be an American. Today I was moved to tears as I voted and watched the people stream into my polling place, as well as watching and listening to the reports about what was happening across thisw country. People waiting in lines for the chance to cast a vote - amazing. My daughter cast her 1st vote for President today and was excited and proud.
God bless Ameerica!
I hope to hear from lots of people. I have missed y'all.
Peace, Pam

Obama wins! Yes! What a stirring acceptance speech.
My state of Texas is still red, and many local and state races went to the Republicans.
We have early voting, so I voted last week. My daughter was excited to vote Democratic.
My son voted for the first time, and he voted for Obama. He's an Army Sergeant, whose been deployed twice to Iraq. I think he feels this is the first time he's felt he could make a difference. All three of us want the Iraq war ended, and to do what's right in Afghanistan. I'm hopeful now also to see gains in healthcare coverage, worker's rights, renegotiation of NAFTA, appointing govt agency heads who want to make govt work - not tear it down. Also many other things too numerous to mention. I see hope coming back to America. And not a moment too soon.

Well, it's over! As far as I'm concerned this is such good news! Here in MO we are still counting ballots...who'd a thought that good 'ol Missouri would take so much time finalizing this vote!!!
This is such an historic day, how wonderful it is for those voting for the first time. So many stories on NPR that just make you cry! Funny, seems like last night I just couldn't stop smiling and today I find I am crying about half the time...oh well, emotion and age don't mix to well!!! Ha!
I just feel energized, like something good could happen. Hope we can all have that feeling one of these days. I sure hope the division between parties can lessen, I'm afraid it's becoming almost dangerous. That is rediculous and will just make improvements slower and harder to achieve. Oh well, guess I shouldn't be looking for trouble before Obama/Biden even take office! Ha!
Congratulations to us all!
