I'm amazed....I didn't think I would be so heart broken about hearing men get deployed but, I have those same old feeling from when i'd get the news that my husband had to go away again...It just tears me apart. Now, We've gotten the news on one date..Who else is going soon? and if there is ever anything I can do for any Military Personel..Plz don't hesitate my door remains open as well as my ever continuing breaking heart.
Sincerly, June.

I have 2 good friends in Iraq now.... one in Afghanistan and my "hanai" daughter's husband is in Iraq. Praying for them all continuously.

One of the good friends went back over in July, only 30 days after being released from "profile" due to MASSIVE injuries the first tour. He came home early, injured in Jan 06. His wife is trying VERY HARD to stay strong. The kids aren't holding up as well. He is still "numb" from his shoulder down on his right side... had cut himself severely and not known it until Tara (the wife) flipped out wanting to know what happened.

I feel your pain Peaches. I am sick over this war. It ruined my 2nd marriage and continues to ruin lives of those I love and care about.

Thanks for posting to this, I guess it's in my blood..I've been around it for so long and looks like it will remain a part of my life, My brother is leaving this month and my son will be ready to go soon as well...Navy's post just really caught me off guard and I always feel like i got punched in the stomach when I hear the news....I talked to tx and I think i'll just go back to working with the families. in AFRG and AFTB..It's odd how life happens and in the strangest of ways...*hugs* to All.

god bless the deployed...there is some things you can do...one is to contact the legion or post nearest you and the most rewarding thing to do is to send letters to those deployed who have no one to correspond with...when i was in the military...no one wrote to me but maybe every 4th month...these guys need to hear the love and support as they are in that combat...we need to at least say thanks to those serving there...and show that support when and if they return...even if you do not know that soldier but know when he/she returns go greet them and personally say thanks...every time i see a soldier or military people i say thanks and sometimes will buy a cup of coffee along with it...its the little things that mean a lot that goes rerally far for them...jmo

Having survived vietnam...the first iraq war with bush sr. was hard for me
to take...returning troops helped me heal..I try to avoid news of deployments
deaths, etc. only because it take more than a piece of my heart, but tears
into my soul...I feel the pain of all love ones...memories of war never
go away. On the other hand...hearing some news about the war makes for a
stronger bond between me and my fellow brothers in arms.. God bless them
and their families... they will always be a part of who I am.
