Could have also used, "My mother taught me about SADISTIC BEHAVIOR" for the switch deal..... I had to go out and get my fair share of switches....hmmm.. that would explain alot...

My mother taught me not to say bad words as a child
I was a stock holder with the Ivory company for years...
My mother taught me not to cross my eyes
for it will stay that way forever
My mother taught me not to raise my eyebrows
for it gave permenent wrinkles, and she would lift her bangs and show me hers
always scared me to death, thinking ewwww. yucky wrinkles..
got the staving children in africa thing,
but i knew my parents did not have the stamps to send the stuff
so i learned to smash your Brussel sprouts under your plate when
she was not looking, and the sprouts stuck to it.
and volunteer to clear the table
and wash the dishes.. Found later brussel sprouts float in dish water,
and mothers
have eyes in the back of there head... ouch..
(rubbing backside in memory)

My mother taught me to not even dream about running from a beating. If I did, I got it five times worse. So also taught me that it didn't matter if I told the truth and an adult contradicted me, she was going to believe the adult every time. And, she also taught me that since I was going to get beat for doing it whether I actually thought about doing it or not, let alone doing it for real that I might as well go ahead and do it. At least the beating would have been legitimately earned that way. Thank goodness I rarely followed up on that last bit..........
