Yes, another success story!
Jim and I met on DH in March of this year. Actually I have to admit, he messaged me a few times and I didnt read them. I had alot going on at work and really didnt have the energy to read them and think. When I did sign in I mainly was checking out the forums. Don't have to think that way! lol Then I noticed it seemed like every thread I read, Jim had posted to and I found myself laughing at everything he said. I figured it was time to read his messages, then I felt bad because he seemed like a really sweet guy. I didnt message him back though. I went to the forums and happened to come across a subject he happened to be posting on, so I posted and said "Hi" to him. The joker he is... said something about me making him fall on the floor. That first day I think we spent about 6 hours chatting via instant message. Things progressed rather fast, I think it was within a couple of days we were talking on the phone and had made a date for him to take me to dinner, but we really didn't want to wait for the weekend so we decided on a Wednesday. He actually drove for 2 hours to come to where I lived, and met me at work, safety in numbers you know. Plus I work with a bunch of men so I knew I was safe that way! lol
We went to dinner and then to a local park where we could talk... peaceful but public, and talked for hours! I dont think the poor guy got home until well after midnight!
Long story short, we took turns driving. One weekend here the next where he lived. That didn't last long. We discovered that if we didn't see eachother at least every 2 days we were impossible to live with... so he moved in! My kids love him and we all seem to mesh well.
Don't get me wrong, there have been some bad times to go with the good. As adults with children we both have baggage and have lots to learn about eachother, but thats normal in any relationship.
To those of you still out there looking, good luck! It can happen. Be patient, be careful, and be sure. Don't play games and be honest. It will come to you!!!
