I was married for 30 years and divorced 8. Any relationship that I now get into the women wants to move too fast and too deep. From the beginning I try to tell them that I want to take it slow and may not want to get married again. They agree that this is the best way to go about developing a relationship but in no time they tell me "we need to talk" and I know what's coming. I'm not into them as much as they are into me. How can you deal with this short of being a bad guy that seems uncaring?

It's all in the stage of life that you are in and what you are seeking. Finding one who is on the same path as you are at this moment is not as easy as it sounds. Just keep looking until you find that.
I have a great friend who is the stage that you are. I am on another path.. but we hang out together alot and it works great for us both.. Neither one of us has a problem with what the other is searching for. It's simply accepting what the other has to offer.. even if it isn't exactly what you are seeking. I wouldn't trade his friendship for anything

I would have to agree with Tru your just not on the same path. I think woman our age are thinking more about the future and not wanting to be alone as we grow older. That may be why they seem in more of a hurry than you are.

I do have a couple close woman friends that tell me that most women want more of my attention and affection regardless of what they tell me. Is it that they are not honest with themselve and their feelings and will pretend to be what the man wants them to be be hopes to capture his heart later?

That's exactly right! Women our age don't want to waste too much time on a man who doesn't want a long term one woman relationship. Sure we may go with the flow for awhile but remember we're still looking too and you'll miss out on something good in your life. You can always find the good time boys---it's the staying kind that are hard to find.

They just don't want to sound so hungry for a relationship but every woman i have met so far said they wanted to take it slow. But after only a few weeks they start with all the i love you's and i want to be married. i don't want to be alone for the rest of my either but i want it to be the best it can be and that takes time.

I know we don't have time to waist but why be in a hurry when you plan on spending the rest of your life with that person anyway, if they are the one. I don't want to spend the rest of my life in turmoil and not be happy because i was in a hurry.

I have been single 16 years.. I'm not in a rush to get married ( although someday I do want to remarry). I think that just because some of us are looking for a life partner doesn't mean we are rushing into anything. We are just focused JMO as usual lol Trish

God no---there's nothing in my future that says marriage I don't think. I just feel I'm too mature to be a groupie to a line of "fun" girlfriends. Don't want anyone to give up anything except I do expect to receive all his extra time and not share. If I give him everything I got, I expect the same from him or we're not on the same page and it's time for me to move on. Just my opinion here---sorry

As I have stated do not think I want to remarry and not even sure want to live with someone. Would like that duplex so I could go home when I want and not answer the door if I do not want.

I am not sure I want to marry again either but I would live with a man. I would not want to lose my medical benifits unless getting married made mine better. JMO
