Hi everyone I'm glad I discovered that there is a group for the 50+. I have just ended a 4 year relationship and it hurts as much as it did when I was 30 something. I can't believe I was fooled for so long. It seems so hopeless now....finding that one true love I mean.
It seems I attract the same kind of man every time and yet, I don't want to be alone the rest of my life. I'm okay with my 'alone' time, but I don't want to be without someone special. Comments? Anyone else going through this? Is everyone still hoping for that 'special person'??

I feel for you! Now that I have gotten wiser I refuse to settle for just anyone. I have my standards and uphold them, sometimes you have to be the picker instead of the picked. If you get my meaning. Hang on though it will get better in time and as they say time is of the essence.

Welcome to the gang. We all get hurt and have been hurt. Take time now for yourself to heal and don't settle for anything less than what you deserve. Please read the other thread here and you might find some very useful information. This site has done so much good for me. It has helped me to learn about myself and why I also always seemed to end up with the same kind of man.
Chin up and walk proud.

When you get hurt enough you just don't put your heart out there far enough to get it stomped on again. I was dating someone and was getting to where i was leting my heart out and she stomped on it again. I'm just glade it happened before we were married.
