I would like to say that the worst car I've ever owned was a 1974 AMC Hornet. That son of a b*tch kept breaking down on me every time I put the key in the ignition! The driver door was jamed. The engine was always choking itself to death and it leaked gas.The seats would fall back on you while you drive and the rear view mirror kept falling off!So whats your worst car?

This may sound strange, but I never owned a "worst car", none of the ones I had were perfect when I got them, but all were easily fixed and ran great for me.
I guess they all liked me!

I drive newer car now but my worst is turning out to be 1989 Chevy Cavilar..kept it for the memories and wanted to give it to my son..so far this yr have replaced more than $1500.00 in it w/new parts, has new transmission and apprently all the master mechanics in this area(bunches)cannot fix it.. so if anyone wants to make suggestions..let me know. It ran perfectly for a yr and then after driving it awhile, it just shuts down when you take foot off the gas and you are lucky if it starts back up..sigh..going back to shop on Monday..each mechanic says it's fixed, but once off their shop lot,it starts doing it all over again and so the cycle begins again.

Sounds like this car is showing it's age.Hate to see you sale it and whoever buys it from you will have the same problem.Any car that spends more time in the shop then on the road should go to the junkyard ASAP.

Howard, I made a mistake. The Saab I told you about was not the worst car I ever owned. It was a 79 Buick LeSabre that I bought on a salvage title. They never repaired it properly and each year I spent a thousand or more on it keeping it running. It's a mistake I will never make again.

I have owned a couple of cavaliers... VACCUUM LINES, fuel filter. exhaust. can the gas tank vent freely...
worst car... I'd say my cars, no worst... my mother on the other hand... suzuki grand vatara. LEMON It must have been a series of glitches at the factory. bought new. POS started knocking, panels were loose, the windshield busted pulling into our driveway, trim peaces fell off, and it cost so much $ just to still be the same POS it alwayse was
lemons do exist

Howard, it came from a used car dealer who bought it after it had an engine fire. He prettied it up, got it running and replaced a few parts, then sold it for a low price. The reason those cars get totalled by the insurance is because you never know how much of the car got stressed to nearly the point of breaking in a fire or accident.
Vintage 57, my mechanic said to get rid of it lol He told me that it would be a heart breaker. I finally listened to his advice when I came up with the money for another car. I hardly see him any more except when he comes to buy groceries at my store
Jim
The next car on the list was a new 1971 Saab 96 that I bought when the 72's came out. It was a wonderful car, except the clutch and the brakes were underdesigned. I was constantly replacing slave and master cilenders and had to replace the clutch plate once. When the dealership that sold it to me, closed down, there was only one shop within 30 miles that could work on it back then, and they were dishonest. I spread the word about the things they were doing to me, and so did several of their other customers. They lasted about 6 months after I had to sell that car.

A 1973 Ford F-250 pick up. The camshaft was broke in half. It ran for 2 years on the front 4 cylinders. Her name was "Old Smokie". I had a bumper sticker on it that read "If you can read this, I'm out of oil"
