And here is my story.
I signed up for DateHoookup and a bunch of others about 4 mos ago. Since DateHoookup was free (and I didn't really want to pay for the other omes) I spent more time on this site. Not to long after creating my profile I got any email from a guy. We met and hung out and it was good cause it was the first date that I had in awhile. So we hung out a few times. Now I also had other guys that were emailing me, I even had one that wanted just sex, yes those are on here too. Anyway, I met another guy (besides the first one I mentioned) but there was no spark.
So just when I was getting ready to focus all my attention on the first guy, even though I wasn't sure where he stood or if he felt the same, I got an email from Danny. Now this was not a typical first email cause he actually read my profile and made comments on it in the email. I wasn't one of those emails that are two lines, the two standard and boring lines. So I wrote back, and wow did it ever snowball from there. Within a week's time things progress quickly and it didn't scare me. I eventually gave him my number and he called. Now we didn't have a marathon first phone call, but it was a good first phone call. Technically, I missed his first call cause I didn't hear my phone ring, anyway.
So I would say a month later we met in person. I lived in CT and he lived in NY. I went to NY to go to church with him. And he was extactly the way he had presented himself to be in the emails and on the phone. Cause sometimes that in-person meeting is not very good, that was not the case with us, it was great.
So for the last two months my life has changed drastically. I have a man that God brought into my life (through DateHoookup) and we are going to get married. Now, I know that 2 mos seems like a short time, and it is. However, we believe that God does things in His own time and not in man's time. And when you have the Almighty Lord working in your favor and blessing you, all things are possible.
So if you are reading this for encouragement, be encouraged cause it is possible to find love and happiness online, whether it takes 4mos or 40mos.
Also if you have faith and believe in the Almighty God, give him control. I believe that He brought Danny into my life because I relinquish control over to Him (God) and trusted Him to provide me with what I was looking for and what He knew I needed. Danny, is what I was looking for and more. I'm still in awe of it all and the smile has not left my face from that first email I got from him.
So good luck and God bless, as soon as I post this I'm canceling my account with the knowledge and the faith that I will not be back, cause I have found my soulmate (cheesey I know, but true).
And now my two cents - Stay true to yourself, never be who you think they want you to be cause it never works out for either party.
