Well..honesty is a funny thing, and you can look at it many ways.
If someone asks me something, which is my own personal busines, I will tell them..."It is private and I don't want to discuss it."
If a friend asks my opinion about something, and it will be a negative reply..I will say, "You don't want to ask me, because you are not going to like the answer."
If someone gives me a gift I can't stand, I will accept it graciously, and keep my big mouth shut. That's called "tact" not "lying."
If I voice my opinion, I try to base it on the facts I have on hand and my own personal experiences. If there's something I don't know about, I will readily admit "I don't know a thing about it, but tell me more, I like to learn new things." I won't try to BS my way through anything.
I think too many people have heard, "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls___t!!! And unfortunately, there's not enough brilliance, but plenty of bulls__t to go around the world a dozen times!
