Hooter's may make her feel somewhat self concious...I do however like the Starbuck's idea. I like sportsbars, coffee houses..Just a nice quite place to chat and get to know each other without going over the top.

For me ... If it's the VERY first MEETING IN PERSON ALONE, I like to ask her to have coffee and chat.
I like to work out the time to be maybe 9:30 to 10 AM ... This allows us time to chat some and not chat so long that we hit a more or less mandatory "lunch-together" time.
If the coffe-chat goes well, THEN I would check the signs and see if she'd like to maybe walk a little until lunch and then return to the diner for a casual lunch.
This way neither is "cornered" or "finds themsel;ves" in any degree or fashion to go further than coffee if the chat determines we don't really "click" after all ... Yet it leaves all possibility doors for the next step open ... i.e: Lunch and more good in-depth chat that slowly become "talk" or actual conversation ... A nice walk and more talk ... possibly then a good sense of knowing whether a dinner date might be in order or some other activity.
Now if I could JUST get mommy to give me permission to cross the street, I could get started -

I like to keep things very casual......pizza & beer is good. What better way to find out a person's temperment than to see how they handle burning the roof of their mouth on hot cheese?

Actually, I think Hooters is a great idea! Used to go all the time in Florida. Of course there's gorgeous women walking around scantily clad.......but if you have self-esteem & a positive attitude, the guy will be looking at YOU and not their boobs!

Hooters is all about the chicken wings anyway !!!!!!! You will look awesome on a first date with orange chicken wing grease running down your arms, hands and chin !!! Honestly the first date is best dictated by the people,, coffee,, chicken wings,, museum,, text messaging competition,, etc !!!! DZ
