I've learned that people are not always who they pretend to be, that most of your matches live far away, and that it's easy for them to lie to you on line. And that this site really doesn't work, but the forums are fun!

I like online dating! If you check my profile out ... the "Marlboro Man" that I added I'm dating now. I met him on Yahoopersonals. My best advise is this ... a photo of face only is usually not good. Take a good look at the photos ... beware of the fact that sometimes they won't even look like their photos... so, because of this I do not waste much time meeting them. I look like my photos, but I've met alot of people who didn't. Example: Rick, the guy in my photos... winked at me Sunday afternoon, emailed me that night and I met him for happy hour Monday ... being seeing him every since!

That no matter how much you seem to have in common and are "compatible" through online (email, IMs) things can change completely after meeting in 3-D.
That's why you don't waste too much time doing all of that ... if it might be there MEET THEM and get that part over with!

on-line dating is a whole different world. on one hand, technology has made it to where u have the option to meet and see ppl sitting right on your couch and never moving, that is until u actually land a REAL date, then u have to get up, and all the little conveniences w/it. but at the same time it has brought frustrations w/it too, meaning just like out in the real world u dont know for sure who is real and who isnt and really its not any easier meeting s/o on-line than it is in person. u just got to learn the art of weeding out the ones u dont want and hopefully u reel in a good catch either way.
and i agree, it takes a lot of time but dont have high expectations.

I have learned that there is no such thing as online dating...it all happens offline ...that is reality..that is when it is real.

1. People who's profile screams "no drama" usually have plenty of it.
2. "Average" doesn't really mean Average.
3. "Baggage" is not the carry on type for boarding a jet.
4. What the word "jaded" really means.
5. No Pic = No meet.
6. Drinks occasionally means a 12 pack a night for some.
7. What "prefers not to say" really means.
8. Family is Number 1 means we frequently have relatives
that stay for "extended" visits.
9. It would totally suck without the forums.
10. I have a great sense of humor. (Don't be angry when I
call you to bail me out of jail)

I have learned not to trust the phrase "a few extra pounds", "large but shapely",
"proportionate", "a little extra padding"....
..that people are not always what they appear to be on their profile
..that you have to be careful who you give your number to or where you meet.
...that some men are just looking for sex(just like in the real world)
...that you can not believe everything you read
...that it is another good way to meet prospective dates.....

NEVER take anything seriously until it turns into reality.
The majority of people talk the talk but cannot walk the walk and those that do,
are your true friends!!
AND do NOT believe everything that you read or "see"!!!

As a photographer pictures are important, one of the best date i had on here was from a shadow person, very cool.
I gave learned that people lie, cheat, play games, each profile should have a buyer beware on them. I have learned that not everyone that is on here is emotionally available, most don't know what they want or what they need. Not every one that comes your way is honest, be careful not to get crushed.
In closing just like the real world we have he good the bad ad the ugly. I have made a lot of good friends that have moved into the real worls

...the websites should just be for the initial contact and to mutually determine whether to meet shortly after that contact
...that women decide whether a meeting happens or not
...doesn't effectively replace the "greet and meet" in person

Men are only interested in barbie dolls and f**king them.
And women are only interested in Hr. Hunk driving a $350,000 Maybach.
