If you could describe your romantic side, which one of these scenarios would fit your style?
1. You would pick her up in a limo, shower her with roses, and take her out to eat at a very nice upscale restaurant.
2. You would send her flowers at work, and have a very nice candlelight dinner prepared for her when she got home, with nice romantic music softly playing in the background.
3. You would grab a Chocolate rose and a card at the supermarket, ten minutes prior to picking her up at work and running her through the drive-thru at McDonalds for a value meal.
4. You would steal a bouquet of flowers from the neighbors rose bush, serve her cheese balls with toothpicks in them as appetizers and watch the WWF on TV while she clips your tonenails?
5. In your own words..
Girls, share your good memoirs too, please
thanks

First I gotta say you look really good at 89 yrs old!
The 1st two seem kinda like "fore-play" for a "player"...is that stuff really romance?
Of course gifts and fine dining are cool, but isn't it alot of little things All Day Long also?

I personally don't want all the "commerical" lovey dovey stuff. I will take it if you really can't come up with something sweet and romantic on your own, but it means more when it comes from the heart and they truly try to find something geared to you, shows for one that they really know you and that they pay attention to what you say and what you like.
Awhile back my ex picked me up to drive several hours away to pick up some hunting dogs. It wasn't romantic and nothing special planned, but we drove and talked all the way. Stopped at a winery on the way, a cute little diner and had lunch, took a little walk in the country. It was just nice to spend the time and have a good talk along the way. It was a great day.

Hmmm, well, I'm not the store variety romantic. Romance like love can not be bought. Fancy cars, elligant restaurants and over abondance of flowers is not very romantic, these things are moment reminders and are forgotten with in a day or two.
To me, romance is a feeling that should linger for days and not for an hour or a few moments, like love and passion. Oh yea, it can been seen, but, it's better when it's flet in my opion.
Like, well, I'm the guy who leaves and email or note every morning for her to find to greet her and start off her day with a smile.
When we are together and we have all day to spend, no matter what we are doing, I'll stop, take my hand and gently caress her face as I look at her starting with her eyes and the slowly around her face down to her lips. This will be at an unexpected time and she'll ask, "What?" and I'll say, "I just wanted to take a moment and really look at your beauty". Or, I'll say something like, "Hey, I know a lucky man who is totally in to you."

I don't like doing what everybody else does so for Valentines Day, instead of the usual dozen roses everybody else sends I sent her a large bouquet of different flowers all in her favorite color with one red rose to show how special she is to me.

I sent my Valentine a painting I had made for her by a local artist.
"Show me long distance romance"
and I was pleased. The woman was pleased.
There was a general all around pleasing going on.

I love to cook, & used to all the time for my Gf...so it's be a variation on #2. Last one I can remember doing before she moved, I got up early on the next morning while she was snuggled in bed & had her car washed because she had mentioned needing to do it. Then we had all Saturday to go play....

1. I would either call her at work or send her an
email telling her what I had "in store for her" later.
2. I would make sure there wasn't any type of housework
for her to do when she arrived home.
3. I would un-plug the darn phone and turn off the pc.
4. Neck, back and feet would eventually be massaged.
(Ultimately, there would be some oil involved here)
5. I don't yet have full posting privs to describe what
happens next but there would be "oooooooohs and ahhhhhhhs" involved.
6. Scented candles, incense and Rock ballads will be playing in
the background. Her favorite dish would be served from her favorite
chef.
7. Step 5 would be continously repeated.

I used to bring my ex-wife flowers to her work personally. Not roses as they die quickly. Usually carnations and different colors for a variety. A nice card usually accompanied the flowers. I used to cook dinner on nights I arrived home before her and did the dishes also for icing. I've done the nice dinner out so many times, it seems too routine nowadays. Not so special anymore.
This is a tough one because I have issues with men having to be the romantic ones. I've yet to be in a relationship where it's equal or even close for that matter.
As a rule, I'm very romantic.

Romance comes from the heart, NOT the wallet.
I have always tried to do things that mean just a little bit more. For example, anyone can go buy a card....but how many take the time to make one? Flowers are almost expected for special occasions, so I like to send them for no reason on a day that she wouldn't expect them. I like to write, so sending an email in the middle of the day with a nice poem usually works well. Showing up to greet them getting off a train unexpectedly. Driving across town to simply leave a love note attached to the window of her car. Stopping in a public place, holding her face gently, kissing her softly, and telling her she completes you. Gifts are nice, but gifts from the heart mean so much more.

For me, I would say it's #2. Along with anything else that may show my lady how special she is to me. I like to treat her well. Not saying with anything expensive. I think the little things mean much more. A card or letter for no reason other than to tell her I love her. Running a bubble bath or giving her a massage after a long day at work. Or even just giving her space to unwind and relax. Telling her everyday how beautiful she is and how much she means to me. Never taking her love for granted.

It would depend on the age I was at the time. When I was younger, 20-30 I probably would have selected number 1. limo and reataurant, except I chartered a plane and we flew to NY for dinner and a play. 30-40 I probably would have chosen the romantic home cooked meal. 40-now, would and have chosen a romantic hot tub situation with a nice bottle of wine and tell her and show her how much she means to me!! Different approaches for the different times in my life.
