What about spiritual, soulful connections? You know...when you meet someone and you have this strong bond, this strong connection. I'm sure you all have had them, but they are so powerful that a mere hookup doesn't compare at all. This is almost like the "love at first sight"; however, you know that it is so much more...
I wrote a poem to further illustrate what I mean by a spiritual, soulful connection, but I wanted to know how you all felt. Would you prefer a spiritual, soulful connection or a quick hookup, and why? Have you had a strong spiritual/soulful connection with someone and if so, how did it turn out? Please share your thoughts.
Here is a poem I wrote to further clarify a spiritual, soulful connection, but again, I would like all of your input on what it means to you and/or if you even care about it...
Spiritual, Soulful Connections
What is a spiritual connection you ask?
Well let’s break it down by task
Life is but an illusion
And our hearts are in fusion
Love is a many segmented emotion
That provides us all with the notion
That we are here to love everyone
And to give, to hold, to touch one by one
It begins with initial attraction
And the first touch and spoken caption
For as we sail away in the midnight blue
It is always just me and you
A soulful connection is the way to go
To feel true love and to know
That you are blessed in all you do
As we fly away in the sky so blue
I have learned that each and every day
My love will grow and forever stay
Within your heart and mine so close
We now have a love that we can boast
I have tried and tried to have the superficial thang
But no matter how much I try, I just can’t hang
For I need true love that is lasting and real
That no one can take, grab, or steal
Give me a spiritual, soulful connection today
So that I can continue on my way
Knowing that I am loved for who I am
Not just for the physical thang, I’ll be damned
Give me love or give me reason
To take my love and share thru the season
For you and I were meant to be
A Spiritual Connection, can’t you see?
To love me is to know me
Not for what you see
But for what I am on the inside today
Can we make a way?
Please me, love me, tease me
Know that I’m the truth and the way to see
That Spiritual connections is what God has for us
Do you now understand that isn’t just lust?
Be true to yourself and you shall see
That time is an illusion for me
We are never separated for we are ONE
And once discovered our search is DONE

Oh my goodness....what a beautiful poem.
Give me a spiritual soulful connection any day!
They r very few a far between, almost like a fairy tale.
I think that most men around here just want to play.
But when u find that one who u connect with, and he
feels it too, it makes u believe that true love can
be found in a place like this! We'll just have to wait
and see!

Thank you so much for the responses and positive feedback. Yes, I am currently writing my first novel (about 60% done). It is a fictional novel and I do expect a movie out of it so as you can see I shoot for the stars and I believe I will reach it for the sky truly is the limit!
I wrote that poem in about 10 minutes the other morning when it was pouring down rain outside. I get inspired to write and the words just flow out of me from a higher source I believe so I give my credit to that, but to have such kind words from all of you and the fact that you all understand what it means to have a spiritual connection, I just want to say I love you all for understanding and knowing what this all really means.
I also want to thank you for commenting that the key to unlock the heart of another is to unlock the key to your heart which is self-love and so very critical for we all must love ourselves before we can love anyone else.

By the way, I have started a blog (I'm a newbie at this so please be gentle) at http://inspire.ology.com. Please check it out. I posted my poem there as well, but also wrote a blog on Passions in the Workplace. Now, I'm not talking sex in the workplace, I'm talking about passionately loving what you do.
I have recently been laid off and my career was in IT Project Mgmt. for the last 12 years; however, now I'm ready to write my first fictional novel (about 60% done) and I also wanted to start writing blogs to get my feet wet. I'm still out there looking for another job in my career field (although I no longer have the passion for it) to survive and keep my home, etc. as many thousands/millions of people are doing now, but my PASSION is writing!

Beautiful and thoughtful poem
I think the only connection worth pursuing is the spiritual one. It seems the other reasons and desires are just smoke and there is an empty place within when they are gone. The spiritual connection will nourish the soul long after the physical presence is gone.
