I met wife # 1 in Taiwan by a chance encounter. I was stationed in Taiwan right after Vietnam and many of us Vietnam vets asked to stay overseas because we thought the women in the states would have nothing to do with us. I drank heavy in those years, this drove the poor lady nuts, and I would say was part of the reason I never had children of my own. Long story short, I quit drinking, she fell out of love with me, and it ended after 11 years (12 if you count the separation before the divorce). I was devastated. I met wife # 2 who was a part of a group of friends I was hanging out with. She was attractive, appeared charming, and I was hooked. This was a classic case of a rebound romance, I was warned multiple times, but did not listen. She reeked havoc on my finances, lied to me, embezzled money from me, cursed at me constantly, and constantly complained about me to her familiy and her children. I threw away almost a decade of my life on this woman. It was two years and a few months of dating, married living together six plus years, separation to divorce a little over a year. I have nobody to blame but myself for getting into this mess. My friends were relieved to see crawl out of this hole. I was relieved to get out of that mess. Wife # 3 is my current one. I am her caregiver and its a role I do not complain about. I thought I was going to loose her a few times but she pulled through (multiple medical issues). She will be 60 on Christmas day and looks like a woman in her 40s. One would never know she had so many medical issues. It comes down to this. We have been married 16 years and together for 18 years (getting close to 19 years). I got it right this time!

I would still be with Roger--3rd. one who was a gem--the best--if God hadn't chosen to take him at age 47. I still miss him so much,but I know he would want me to be happy w/someone else--that is the kind of man he was----And Praise God I will meet him in heaven again someday.
