I'm thinking we need another thread here since we gave poor "mott" a hard time.
I met my first husband when I was on a date with another man which got drunk and we were dancing. I noticed this guy that was cute watching and smiling and I danced over and begged him to save me from this jerk in which he did! Of course now I'd wish he would have left me but.........
My second husband was an old friend that we discussed our shakey marriages with but as friends for a long time, nothing more. He was there for me and I was there for him for we already knew the bad traits that each possessed when we did get married.

My first Marriage was on the rocks and I met the love of my life fighting the Revolutionary war!
It was during the Bicentennial! We were in a re- enactment group. We had 30 years of perfect bliss and happiness. We loved all the same things! He was so much fun. Then he did not feel well and died suddenly of lung cancer!
Not sure I like being single.

I met my ex husband at a Parents Without Partners dance. I don't even know if they still have that group. The band was so bad I swear they played "The old gray mayor aint what she use to be" And ex boyfriends mostly at bars. No wonder I have had rotten luck with men.

Only 15 when I met first husband... married at 17... stayed 28 years 3 wonderful children.
Second husband... watched him from afar at work for three months... finally got up the nerve and asked him out... very empowering... best years of my life with him... felt like I had never been in love before!

1st.husband--at a dance--i said to him" some guys are too stuck on themselves to notice anyone else--that started the whole dating bit---he was handsome then--9 yrs. later and 3 kids he left to go to work,and never came home--lol.
2nd. husband -we met at a dance--he was so handsome--he asked me to dance,and that was the beginning of love--1 child later--he cheated on me--not handsome anymore----12yrs. w/him:
3rd. hubby--met him in a bar--didn't like him,so left. after about 2 weeks he called me and asked for a date(((it took him that long to find out who i was))). I married him about a yr. later--.He loved my kids as much as I did. A very wonderful man of my dreams--9 and a half years later he died of cancer---love of my life--  
4th. hubby--saw me at a singles dance, and my sister told him i was a widow,so he asked me to dance a few times. Called me to go out w/him to make another lady jealous--married that idiot--6 yrs. later he was at his g-friend's and fell off a tractor into a brush-hog,and killed him instantly:

I was 15 and at a party. A guy wanted to take me for a ride on his motorcycle. We took a ride and he stopped and wanted to make out. I protested and made him take me back to the party. He was pissed because I didn't want to play and took a corner too wide hit the curb and we went down .... into the BIGGEST MUD PUDDLE!! In the split second I had it going through my mind how badly we could be hurt and when I realized we were ok and covered with mud I started to laugh. This only made him madder .... about that time my husband to be pulled up on a little Honda 50 he saw us covered in mud and he roared with laughter. I started laughing agian and ask him to take me back to the party. I was 16 and he was 18 when we got married. Remain married for 29 years. In conclusion the devil got ahold of a good marriage.

Yes "cats" I'm sorry for your loss too but you'll find alot of us here and it can be comforting. It's hard to find them good ones and even harder to let go of them.
Well you guys have got me laughing here so keep going.
Nothing like that visual rememorance of something that you like---beats the hell out of talking on-line

Met him in a movie theatre. He was trying to fix me up with his buddy. A few weeks later his "buddy" offered me and my friend a ride home from the same movie theatre. My friend declined as we were getting in the car. Buddy and his friend took me to the country. The rape did not take place. I was armed and he was alarmed. Somehow the ex and I ended up getting together. How dumb I was. We dated for two years and were married for 40 years.

I met wife #1 when I was 38 at the B. Dalton book store in Nashville at a songwriter night. I wanted to get divorced in less than 2 years. I kept trying to make it work.
#2 Commented on her profile on [blocked site].com. In less than a month she went with her "gut" feelings. Asked me to marry her. Even in her profile she said she would never remarry, or relocate because of her kids and family in the North West. I flew to Portland. We had so much in common etc before we met looking for the same thing yadda yadda. 3 out of 13 months was fine.
I am hoping to file next week.
This isn't baseball2 strikes and I'm out!

Worked with her sister. The sister kept trying to sit us up. We did not even like each other very much. Just went out to get the sister off our back. Had a great time together and spend everyday together after that for a year then got married.
Six months later she wanted to try living alone. End of Marrage. Never a fight or disagreement except for her wanting to try living alone.
