I saw Carter when I was young.. working in a mall in Michigan. He came to speak.. must have been pre-election time. I didn't actually meet him, but they walked him by me as I worked. His eyes matched his smile. Ford's security took cuts in front of me to the top of the mountain in Vail... as they closed the door they said Prez is riding up behind you... I was 16-17?

I have met many but it would not be fair for me to list them. At one point in my Navy career I was assigned as the public affairs officer (as an enlisted man). Meeting celebs, being on TV, etc. was part of the job. I did learn, especially with the celebs, that in person they are much different than the way the Hollywoood types try to portray them. Professional athletes I have met also semed to be pretty decent people and some a little on the shy side including an Olympic Gold Medalist I met.

When I was a kid my dad was a radio announcer, and sometimes I got to be a voice in a radio commercial. Well, a big Chevy dealership was opening in our town and I got to be in one of their commercials. At the grand opening my dad was doing a "remote" broadcast, and I was there, and so were the guys from Bonanza-and I got to meet them and shake their hands. They said they heard me on the radio and I sounded professional.
Let's see-Mr. Cartwright (Loren Green)(sp?) and Adam and Hoss were there. No Little Joe-Now if he had been there I would have fainted...I had a huge crush on him!!!
Well, other than Mickey Mouse at the magic kingdom, that's my famous person story.

Gosh-----Most people who hears my sons names think they were named from the bible but in actuality the names came from Bonanza for "Joe" and "Adam" and a John Wayne movie "Jake"
My uncle was "Chet Atkins" if anyone remembers him and my step-niece is the one who is the singer in "Saving Jane"

Butterfly, Chet Atkins was the greatest guitarist that ever lived and he could play any kind of music. One of his romantic albums, "The Most Popuar Guitar" was a favorite of mine and my parents.
