Just broke up with a guy that has been living with me for two months and with the recession I was the one to get laid off...he was the type to always want me around, but the layoff changed it all for good. This man stopped doing everything he was when it envolved me but I just wonder why..what happened to the love..any ideas?

I dont think he really loved you in the first place, just because you were sacked.
I have lived with someone who never even bothered looking for work. In my opinion, there is a difference between, "someone who tries and fails to find employment" and someone "who doesnt try at all". He didn't try at all.
If someone is genuine, they will put in at least 50 percent of the relationship, in ALL AREAS. I think that people get resentful when one person carries all the responsibility.
Find someone else.

I understood you the first time OP.
I wouldn't bother with him at all if he has dumped you because of that. I provided an example of what has happened to me in my own life (early 20's), because I did dump someone who was lazy.

He wanted someone to be there and help him pay the bills and he certainly did NOT love you. You don't stop wanting to be with someone over a lost job. I would just move on and not worry about him because I am sure he is moving on.
