Old Fashioned Elephant Stew - a South African specialty
Ingredients:
1 medium size elephant
20 bags of salt
500 kg pepper corns
750 bushels potatoes
125 bushels carrots
2000 sprigs parsley
1 rabbit, plenty of onions
Preparation:
Cut elephant into bite size chunks. This will take about 6 weeks.
Chop veges into cubes with machete (allow 4 weeks )
Place meat in jumbo size missionary pot. Pump in elephant gravy and simmer for 28 days.
Shovel in salt and pepper to taste.
When meat is tender, add veges. To speed things up, it is recommended you use a steam shovel.
Simmer slowly for another week, then garnish with parsley.
Serves approximately 3000 people.
Add one chicken if DH members are to be present.
If more guests are expected, add the rabbit. However, this is not really recommended because very few people like hare in their stew.
