I read a book many years ago that put forth an idea that everything is either in the camp of love or hate. From sarcasm, a form of hate hiding in condesending humor, to picking up a dropped coin for a stranger, a form of love.

Christians , as do muslims, have a book that they can refer back to for justification of some very hateful words and behaviour which they have convinced themselves is really love.

Just as a racial bigot may not know what they do is racial hatred, many christians do not have the sensitivity to understand that what they do is not loving.

And, given the deceitful, and violent history of the church , the excesses of recent experience upon that does, many times, present to the world more hate than love.

I think sarcasm can be used in an intelligent manner, as in part of our senses of humor, and used cleverly without the intention of hurting anyone. Though since the nature of man is that of a divided nature and he is at war with himself, you have an author of a divided nature writing what he feels is a negative thing and has a perfectly good explanation.

Given our schizogenic society, there is no doubt where the condesension comes from, though there is just as much divine intelligents and love at hand to offset the negative forces working against us.

I think people hating other religions and beliefs apply
not just to christians but all faiths..when they get hung up that
their way is the only way...actually there is more than one way
to god...

Strings.........I agree with you whole heartedly...Jesus was about
the people and about love and carrying it forward...Jesus was not
about organized religion...he did despise what people were espousing.
Surprisingly...Jesus GOT IT!!! he knew it is our Ego that keeps us
separated from God...when Jesus said "the way to the father is through
me" he wasn't saying he was God...he was saying look within yourself,
you were created from the substance of God (in his image as they say) and
Jesus knew we are all ONE...with our creator...our father. But all that
is ignored...Jesus said much more...but it has been buried...on purpose,
as there would be no need for the church (organized religion) if people
knew the whole truth.

Jewelz I like what you wrote as there is much truth in what you say..it
might ruffle others as it is information that is out of their comfort zone.

An interesting book for all those concern: and it is not a book on religion
but it can be beneficial to all...However not everyone is ready for it...and
thats ok, its just not your time...it is called A COURSE IN MIRACLES...You
can get the gist of it from Barnes and Noble or Amazon... just food for
thought...no endorsement

I wrote from the perspective of ,"Why do Christians Hate other Religion's and Beliefs", the title of this thread.

btw, just because one does it does not justify another doing it, a fallacious arguement.

My Dear Brother Nonick,
On one of the many journeys that Jesus took as an interpreter for Ganid and Gonid, according to the UB; a discussion came up between them on the topic of the many roads/paths that lead to the Father. "Jesus said that there are many and that (Buddhism or Confuscous) will take you to the gate yet, it is I that will take you through the gate" This is not meant believing in Jesus rather, believe in doing the same actions that He is teaching us. By that I refer to the actions of Loving one another and helping one another in all things and in all ways.

Upon inspecting what it is that Budda or Confuscous were about we see they were about teaching many of the same type of behavior patterns that Jesus expounded on. Who would know better than one that Created all things in the Heavenly realm and Bestows himself for the betterment of creation and respect to the created?

In His Love and Peace I am with you

Who dares declare that the story of Jesus Christ is any more captivating or inspiring than that of Imhotep, Apollonius of Tyana, Siddhartha, Milerepa, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Ramana Maharishi, Sarmad, or of Jiddu Krishnamurti? And, dare we ask how many people in today’s manic world care a jot for these bright lights of past times?

For every Christ and Muhammad, there are a thousand other god-men, born of virgins, imbued with the deepest wisdom and enamored with a divine mission. India is filled with like men and women today. So let it be known that there is nothing truly unique about the life of Jesus Christ.

The only thing that is unique about the Christ is the lengths to which the Cult, that has adopted his name, has gone to suppress the truth and to foist their unsustainable sectarian beliefs upon the world. The Christian zeal for brutal oppression and its violent conversion of non-believers, its penchant for false promises, its expertise with deception, and its ability to spawn the vilest of human-monsters, are what make it unique in the world.

My Brother Jewlz, in my greatest disappointment I find this:

Who dares declare that the story of Jesus Christ is any more captivating or inspiring than that of Imhotep, Apollonius of Tyana, Siddhartha, Milerepa, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Ramana Maharishi, Sarmad, or of Jiddu Krishnamurti? And, dare we ask how many people in today’s manic world care a jot for these bright lights of past times?

"It is I, stringsvrs that declares the story of Jesus and the way that He lived, treated the poor & the sick, the lowly down-trodden,widowed & orphans alike; that CARE A JOT for these BRIGHT LIGHTS OF PAST TIMES ". Although I may never make such a mark in history as Jesus or the proclaimed saints have, it is my personal obligation to attempt to do so.
None of your above mentioned leaders or teachers have not ever or will never be as prominent a figure as Jesus is. And though many people have done many ill acts in the name of this Christian cult, it is proven by their actions that they are not true in the followings that Jesus set forth."

To stand against the understanding of a good teacher is to stand with the misunderstood.

Let me start off by saying that my religious beliefs are considered by some to be pagan. And that's ok with me. I do NOT however, hate anybody for their religious beliefs. I have a very very diverse group of friends from many different religious beliefs and sexuality.
One of my closest friends happens to be Mormon, and we get along great. To me, it's not the name you put on the higher power that's important, it's that you have a belief in something greater than yourself, and that you strive to make this world just a little bit better in some way. I judge people based on how they treat others around them, not wether they share my religious beliefs.
I don't believe my religion to be the only right one out there, it's just the right one for me. The importance my religion puts on family and friends, on hospitality for those in need of it, for honor and dignity, for courage to do what is right no matter what, those are the things that drew me to it.
One thing I've found though, is that pretty much all religions believe alot of those things. I share the same ethical values as the majority of people out there.
That's why I can be friends with people of other faiths than my own, and even can date them. Don't worry so much about what's going to happen to you after your dead, worry about what you're doing in the here and now, and the rest will take care of itself.
When it's all said and done, and I'm standing before the All Father, I will be know I deserve to be there because I lived with honor, and I served humanity in the best way I knew how.
